Wheel Chock
« on: February 14, 2017, 02:00:53 PM »

Not sure where to put this, so I'll try here. Does anyone know of a company the makes a wheel  chock that is adjustable to the width of the front tire? Thinking about a bike with a fat front tire 200 x 18 that is on a 5.5 inch wheel. My current drove on is not that wide. I'm wonder if anyone makes one that will work. Currently have a condor.

The BikePro brand chocks have narrow tire adapters that can be quickly swapped on and off.

WheelDock is in my opinion the best. A wide WheelDock can be purchased, buy a set of spacers. This way it can be adapted to quite a few tire sizes. Very easy to get the bike on and off.

I agree with wheeldock.  I've owned one for 7 years now and it is awesome.  Tell them your tire size and they build the spacer or the chock to the width of your front tire.  And it's sturdy.

WheelDock is the absolute best hands down. Made in USA, very reasonably priced and super easy to use.  When my bike isn't on the road it's in its WheelDock.

Another vote for the wheel dock. Not sure if you noticed the one on my trailer the last two Maggie Valley visits or not. I recently used it to help a buddy pick up a little Honda Rebel he bought for his grandson. We used a piece of 2x4 as a spacer up front and it held the bike just like it does my big bike. Love that thing.

The wheeldock has another use.  You can mount it in your trailer using a temporary bolt system that I believe comes with it.  Then with a few quick turns of the bolts, the wheeldock lifts out of your trailer.  You can then use it on a concrete floor to hold your bike vertical for odd jobs or to save space in your garage.  No bolts would be necessary to hold the wheeldock secured to the floor.
And as far as spacers go, I had them make the dock wide for a Heritage Softail's front tire, then had them include a spacer for my '11 RGU.  Now that both of those bikes are gone, I used a piece of 1/4" plywood that I custom cut to fit the dock, then secured it in place.  Now the dock fits my '15 RGU perfectly!

I have the quick release bar you speak of mounted to my trailer already. Bought it when I ordered the WD. I do use the WD on the floor in the garage also. Preaching to the choir bud.  :drink:  :2vrolijk_21:
