Whats in a name anyway???
« on: July 23, 2006, 02:42:09 PM »

Well, I am world famous, and known thru out the football world as 'Cigarmike", have friends that are either players or coach'es on many teams. I was adopted by the raiders during Grudens years and traveled to all the road games with them, and was lucky enough to be on the sidelines and locker room with them up untill the last Super Bowl they were in. Have also met many celebs who I have shared cigars with, such as Nicolas cage, Tom Hanks, Tom Selleck, Yogi Berra, etc.... But now, all that has changed.....

I gave up smoking Cigars for health reasons..... I cant belive that for 2 weeks, I havent had one, no thanks to UK Dave , who just sent me some of the finest Cohibas..., and so, Now 'cigarmike' is cursed with a name , I do not deserve anymore.....

I know Im over the hump with this , to sit here and to not have smoked one of Daves cuban cigars yet, that have been staring me in the face for 2 weeks now. Do I feel better?...Yes. one problem, if you can consider this a problem....Ive had a burst of energy that only regular Viagra users or registered sex offenders can understand....  so far, Mrs. Cigarmike cant make up her mind if this is a problem or not,  :o Time will tell....time will tell.

Wish me luck that I dont get that urge again...I have probably not went more than 1 day without a cigar for about 10 years...and that was only due to being in the hospital when it happened.

Glad that you had the will power to give these up if it was a health issue. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] Many can't find the strength to do this. Now for what you speak of as a side effect, is it really a side effect or a blessing. ;)

As for having a name that you don't deserve anymore don't let that bother you I'm sure we've all had some names in our past that we don't deserve anymore. [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

If I might be so forward as to correct your painfully obvious misconception about the malapropism you refer to as your name...  (along with the hideous and horrifying side effects you are now experiencing...).
CigarMike,
the man who used to smoke,
the man who's cigar now smokes!
the man who's wife is conflicted to say the least,
the lucky fella she calls "the beast!"

Under the circumstances, I think I might just send you all of my cigars, to see if I become similarly afflicted....    [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

PS,  Congratulations on the succesful quitting/starting/continuing...   ahh,  you know what I mean!

Hey Mike - I was only testing your willpower -  [smiley=nixweiss.gif] Heh Heh...

Did I tell you I was a smoker for 20+ years and quit overnight with a housefull of duty free cigarettes?

If I can do it anyone can  ;)

Good luck with your new life (and especially your new sex life  [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]...)

Cheers

Dave

Mike,

It's great that you've taken the plunge.  It's something that I need to do with cigarettes.  That being said, my friend and his wife are MAJOR cigar afficionados.  If you'd like to sell what you have left, I can put you in touch with them.  Let me know.

Ernie, I gave them all away to some of my buddies when I first quit (That way, Id know where to get some real fast if I relapsed...... For anyone wanting to quit cigarettes, I have at least a dozen sets of the 3 step stop smoking patches, thats enough for 12 people to quit, dont ask where I got them, (I have low friends in high places) but they cost like $80 for a 3 box set. I will gladly [highlight]GIVE FOR FREE[/highlight], a set to [highlight]ANYONE[/highlight] wanting to try them to help stop smoking.....Umm cough cough....Ernie??? ...cough Hack. ??? let me know bro.

Hey Mike, good luck with the no-mas-cubanos!  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

If you change your mind, I have a spare humidor I can get set up quickly for a relapse. Seriously, probably a good move health wise, and after all sex is better than smoking, except afterward I mean there is that lull. Sick puppy huh ?

Good for you, Mike.
As for me, I bought my seeg because it has a cigar lighter.  I just LOVE the smell of a cigar, whether it's mine or someone elses.
Cigarettes...nah...quit them in 1976, 2.5 packs a day.

I don't inhale [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]
