Title: Changing the Gauge or Gauge color on 2012 Convertible
Post by: sabrehawk on August 08, 2018, 11:37:59 AM
So I have always enjoyed coming here for ideas on what to do for my 2012 Convertible.  I have the Abyss Blue paint and quite frankly, I really hate hate HATE the red-orange color on the gauge and looked at switching it out for one of the HD color changing gauges.  However, as far as I can find, they do not make a model for the 2010-12 FLSTSEs.  Has anyone swapped out their gauge or attempted to change the LED lights on it?  Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Yeah, they have two models for this bike.  Just not a fan of the all digital gauge they have in blue, and the other is $500.  I would be happy just trying to change the backlight to blue, or even white.

Yep, contacted them before the post and I got a response to select their "6-pack" upgrade, which as far as I can tell is for touring bikes.  I asked them for clarification since I only have one tank-mounted gauge, not 4 or 6 in a fairing.  Still waiting to hear back.  I also inquired about having the HD Logo in the tank mount back-lit to blue as well.

This is probably my best option so I will get the before and after pics and let everyone know how it turns out.

So got the word back from ZEECUSTOMS.  Bottomline is they are figuring $80 plus SH to do the job on the gauge.  The only catch is that hey have never seen one of these in house before and not sure if they can even do it.  They won't know until they get it in.  For informational purposes as well, they said they could changed the HD Medallion color to blue and it would be $130.  These are best guesses by them as they haven't been asked to do it before.  I am reluctant since this particular gauge goes fro $350-400 to replace.  I would totally be willing to get the dual color changing gauge from HD for $300, if only they were compatible with this model.  >:(
