I purchased a 2006 Ultra CVO with 42,775 showing last week. Discovered it was owned by a HOG chapter member a city away and found service records at that dealership. Here was my shocking find clocked when the odo read 7,000 miles in 2007:
"TECH REPORTS VALVE SEAL LEAK:
CONDITION DETERMINED TO BE CAUSED BY EXCESSIVE HEAT TO REAR CYL/PISTON DUE TO IMPROPER FUEL TUNING & DUAL EXHAUST CONFIGURATION. TECH RECONDITIONED TOP END. REPLACED PISTONS, RINGS, CYLINDERS AND ALL GASKETS. RECALIBRATED ECM TO STOCK CVO DOWNLOAD (P/N 32876-06D). INSTALLED STOCK EXHAUST SYSTEM."
I havn't spoken to the previous owner yet as this was a trade in and thats how I purchased it. I have no idea who tried doing the tuning to begin with and what kind of pipes were on it. I can onl assume at this point.
Does anyone have a similar experience with poor tuning on these fuelies?
