It says "a significant volume of dealer orders" were cancelled - it didn't say "all". So maybe there will continue to be some shipments.

Normally, the MoCo shuts down the end of June/first of July for two weeks to tool up for the next model year.  Next model years production begins when employees return after that break.  Last year, they took a bit longer to tool up but that's not the norm.  Most dealers will have some straggers trickle in they weren't expecting around June as production begins to wind down before the break.

Rod, normally we (USA) see the new model year bike sometime first of August.  In the past, the MoCo has held their dealer meeting in May/June in preparation for the next model year.  The dealers see these new models and new parts at that Spring meeting.  The public has first view of the models during the Sturgis rally first full week of August.  This past year the MoCo didn't release the 2013 models at Sturgis but waited until later in August/September to show them.  Not sure if this will be a change from now on or it was just for the 2013 model year....guess we will find out this August.  As for overseas viewing/shipping, not sure when you would see the new model years coming your way.

any confirmation from other markets? Very unusual H-D Asia Pacific to know - and communicate - such news first.

They found out first when many purchase orders for manufactured components were cancelled.

THe email say's 2014 CVO it doesn't say they are doing a 2014 CVO Breakout. The way I read it is that you get a choice of 2014 CVO model.

The CVO Breakout might be very short lived!

That's the way I read it as well.  If there is going to be a 2014 CVO Breakout, why would "supplier" issues cause a cancellation of orders for 2013's?

This does not seem like a planned draw-down in production.  Cancelling orders seems pretty serious to me as it impacts revenue and profit for the MoCo, so I would think this is a pretty big deal.

I am dying to know what the real story is with this.  Hopefully someone along the way can find out.

Sucks for those that didn't get one. Hoping the shortage keeps the value up.
