New seat
« on: April 15, 2016, 12:53:06 PM »

I have an 05 SEEC,  I want to get a new seat and a family member has the original seat off his 2011 Street Glide.  Are the frames alike enough for the seats to be interchangeable?  I know they changed the frames in 2008(?).

I don't believe that will work... can't remember what year it was but they changed the tab/tongue (which is on the front of the SEEG's) to the back. It will be really easy to check just flip the seat over and you will see what I'm talking about.

Change was in 2008.  Check out an HD Sundowner seat.

I've used he same seat since 2001.  I believe it was called a "Cushion" seat.  Very comfortable and completely molded to my butt after all these years!

In 2009 they made the big changes to the frames. Rear swingarm and larger rear axel. I have a Road Glide seat from a 2004 or 5 Road Glide and I had the gel insert installed. It is still very comfortable after all of these years.

I got an '04 Road King Custom seat for mine when I got the bike new for more comfortable "two up" riding. The wife won't ride but so far on the original seat. Don't blame her, I wouldn't either. The Custom seat does a good gob for trips. The seats on the '04 and '05 are basically the same. Good luck
