our bikes are unique in the cycle world, nothing compares,

How do you figure that (unique?)?  There's not a feature on these bikes that doesn't exist somewhere else in the industry; often with better integration and interoperability of systems than HD has managed.  Others in the industry and some in the aftermarket are often a generation or generations of head of what HD has deployed to the street.  Whether it be powertrains or suspension or system electronics there's nothing unique about the HD bikes; even the CVO models.

It used to be the case that the CVO bikes stood out far more significantly than the rest of the HD line for paint.  There are still a few good looking schemes I would agree.  Overall, however, it's gotten harder and harder to know a CVO bike from the rest of the model lines just by the paint.

Well yeah, what you say makes perfect sense and all for everybody else's bike.  My bike is different because I think it's different.  Therefore it must be better. Because it's mine & I like it.  But you are right about everyone else's bikes.

The last new one I bought (06 FXST) was 25 grand. The steering head bearings were loose and they
tole me it was a "maintenance issue". It was brand new with 15 miles on it! WTF?

The MSRP on a 2006 FXST was only $14,495, your stealer really saw you coming!

And on the used market they get hit pretty hard. A guy can get an older model all harley taxes paid and low miles to boot.

I was talking more along the lines of what they're charging now. I didn't pay 25 back then, but
they're not that inexpensive in todays terms. Around 16,500 is what that bike goes for (not counting
tax and all the other crap they hit you with). But you get my drift. The cranks are junk, and if you
want it to run right, add another grand or two. It's nuts.

My 2005 seeg was 30k but those were great bikes. Most ran trouble free and almost everyone that owned one regrets selling it. The 110" motor was a real problem as we all know.

i thought about selling my 2005 tu-tone candy cherry and buying the 2019 cvo rg red pepper. After reading about all the issues, I bored mine to 107" and had the heads ported. I am thrilled and glad I didn't sell it. I bought it new in November of 2004 and still love it.

Dont even ask what I paid for my 01 CVO Road Glide with the Hannigan Side Car painted to match with 8,000 miles!...

So it needs a little bit of love.. it was well worth the depreciation!
