Questions on the ThunderMax
« on: February 12, 2006, 05:57:50 PM »

Hey y'all,

HELP!!

I need for y'all to give me the upside and any downsides to upgrading to the ThunderMax on my 06 SE. All I've done so far is put V&H ovals on the stock header pipes. I can see the benfits to the air kit, but I'm still on the fence over the ThunderMax opposed to the RT.   [smiley=confused5.gif]

Tank, if they happen to miss this post you might send a PM to DCFireman or Pappy.  They're both users of the product.

Tank,

I don't really see a downside to someone who says here is the map try it for 30 days and if your not satisfied we will give you your money back.

In leu of your question there are more touch points on the Thundermax in that you have more cells to tune and a faster internal processor to handle the calls for information based on throttle position / rpm.   My buddy who has an 03 SE RK just got one and his numbers were 95 hp and 105 torque at 13 to 1 we could have tuned it more to get it to a bit higher maybe 1 or 2 in each, but left it alone as it runs great.   I would have to tell you to give it a try based on Sean's results and other people I have recommended it to.
