Sad to say I am not too surprised that its shelved for at least a year.  I think it will not ever see the light of day.

I don’t think the Bronx would have seen success anyway.  The sport bike crowd is younger and doesn’t have a connection to HD...many are Anti-HD.  Plus, that market is already dominated by established premium brands...Ducati, BMW, KTM, etc.  Then, throw in all the metrics for someone looking for a more value priced bike, and you’ve got a pretty crowded field.  I’m afraid HD is going to run into the same thing with an adventure bike...they’re getting to the dance too late.

Great analysis! I had the same thoughts back when the concept was floated. Have you laid eyes on the 2021 KTM Duke 890r? What an awesome machine! This is the kind of bike they would be competing with. And on top of all that, "Bronx" is a stupid name.

I wish Harley all the success with the Pan American.  But it is facing very stiff competition from several companies.  Especially KTM and BMW.

X2 Dave. This is a market that I totally don't understand but seems to be wide open in sales. Most riders, at least locally, that own these adventure bikes ride them to coffee/breakfast on sunday morning just like alot of other bike riders. Bikes never see off-road. Brand name seems to be the big status point.

See quite a few of them dirty around here, and through out the Smokey Mountains.  When we are in the Rockies I saw a whole lot of them dirty. 

I'd say not much different that your typical bagger.  Rode to bike night or bar once a week.  2-3000 miles a year at most  Then there are a few of those baggers the get 15K or more a year put on them.   

I would love an adventure bike, and I would take it off the pavement.  Then again I put 20K a year on my bagger
