Title: 17 Limited
Post by: huntnjim on November 16, 2016, 09:13:07 AM
Looking at a 2017 CVO Limited in the Garnet Red/Red. Dealer started at 5k over and after walking away he came back with sticker price 40k. The problem is I m not a real fan of any of the colors this year on the Limited. Now I like the SG color of Dark Slate/Artic Black. So I ask how much to strip and paint. 1rst price for OEM or better class paint is around 6K. I am thinking about it but really don't want to spend over 45 hundred or so. Any thoughts?

Have you considered buying the SG then getting the color matched tourpac? Put on the removable bracket and you have two bikes in one and the color you like.

Find another dealer!   that's absurd in today's market... I'm the first to be an advocate that profit is not a dirty word,,, but gouging like that is not the way you gain a customer for life... not a good experience from start,, usually the way it starts is the way it finishes...

I would really reconsider repainting any CVO for the loss of value plus the cost of the new paint job. The suggestion on SG with the removable TP is a great one. Have you seen the silver/gray Limited?

I'm with Jim on this one because I considered the same. The biggest deal with buying the SG is its not a touring bike. It a huge difference in ride and drive especially if you ride 2 up. SG is more of a Hot rod especially with the suspension plus minus some nice tour options. I'm actually thinking about buying a 107 ultra and upgrading the engine and repaint. Then I can add the upgrades and options I want and get a better price on the bike.

Find another dealer. I got mine for 10% below MSRP and no BS fees added.

Ok here is the final, 10 percent off msrp, 750 to disassemble all paint parts, 750 to reassemble all parts. 3800 to repaint guaranteed satisfaction (quote) better than OEM at Gunslinger. I agree the SG is more of a local riding bike. If it was only me (maybe) my wife still likes to set back in her luxury chair and enjoy the curves and hills. The Limited is just more..... longer wheel base more comfortable shock system more room even with the tour pack added to the SG.
Also ordered the Paul Yaffee 10" bars. Have them on my (now sons) 2013 CVO Limited, look great, not tall enough to go above faring and my hands don't go to sleep as much.

Hey Jim I bought some Factory 47 bars for mine and love them. Great choices and customer service.

Do you find the grip width is wider than the Yaffe MB ?

I am so challenged with pictures and posting. I've never used the Yaffe bars. I know the 47's have different heights width and rake on the grips.
