I feel that as the popularity of the site grows and as consumer niggles are increasingly posted there may be an influence from the "name and shame" aspect. Think JD Power!

They probably know we exist but with 619 members we can't ever buy a days worth of production.  What we fell or think probably will not effect HD's bottom line.  Althought I did get invited to be involved a reseach study a few months ago.

This would be an excellent chance for any of our members to discuss with H-D and with the supplier ( the plating company) a resolution to the chrome problems.  We have a small random sample that exhibits a percentage of problems.  The bikes that are currently affected have legitimate concerns.  Although, I don't feel that it will happen, I hope that someone goes and gets positive feedback.

I'm going to my H-D shop tomorrow to have the front wheel replaced because the original one has peeling chrome.  Also, the shifter and left mirror are being replaced because of peeling chrome.  And, my riding buddy is taking his SEEG in too for the front wheel chrome problem.  We've both already had the rear wheels replaced.  My question:  Where do we stand when our bikes are out of warranty and the replaced parts loose their chrome too?  Any comments appreciated.

Fortunately I have not had any chrome problems but I have two friends, One with a CVO, that have had problems with the chrome. It seems that most have had problems with the chrome on the rims. I think that we all need to voice our opinions about this issue to the motor company. We may only be 619 members but we do own what is suppose to be the best the motor company has to offer.

To resolve the issue  after your warranty expires and your dealer does not resolve the problem you will have to go through the laborious task of meeting just about everybody in customer service by phone getting a claim or order number for your problem(s) talking to the field rep, then his or her supervisor leading you to a few department heads and possibly a good attorney and a judge.
