Title: Kiwi's Big Adventure
Post by: 9 1/2 Beers on August 08, 2009, 08:44:54 PM
Today we had the honor of meeting "the" Kiwi's Keith and Doreen. It was a great day, the road was clear and the weather was fine. I sure enjoyed Kiwi's company, and I look forward to riding with them again  :2vrolijk_21:

Terry in the front is wearing his new helmet, it has been painted to match his great orange Roadglide. Maybe you have seen it in a differant thread. His stereo is one of the best I have ever seen or heard. You would have to see it to understand.

Wrongway and Lil-Bit had a great time with Keith and Doreen (The Kiwi's), Marty, Paula, Jimmy, John (On a 2004 Cobalt SEEG, non member, but someone I have known for about 15 years and was a surprise to see show up with Kerry) , Terry, Greg, Danny (Friend of mine for 40+ years), Mark, and Kerry. We left the house at 8:15a and got home at 8:45p. Here is our pictures, from an OLD Kodak as our Nikon is in for warranty repairs, bad timing.

Our guests for the day! Lead them for miles on the wrongside of the road. They think we talk funny? We thought it was them?  ;D ;D ;D

Jimmy rode south to meet Keith and Doreen at the home they were staying at, then lead them north to our meeting point. Can you see why we love Jimmy? He is one of the nicest guys I have ever had the pleasure, hands down.

More of Angeles Crest Hwy. Weather was unreal.........short sleeves but you wanted long but didn't want to stop. Couldn't have asked for a better day on the Crest.

Great photos!

I really had a good time. My ONLY regret is that Kiwi had to have his rental bike back by 6:30 so we ended things earlier than we planned. We finished up at the Sagebrush Cantina where "Champagne Girl" got her bubbly and the rest of us got beer. Can't wait for the next ride.

hey Kiwi,
My wife and I are researching a vacation in New Zealand. A friend of mine went years ago on a guided rental bike tour and brought back the most beautiful photos. We are mostly interested in the natural wonders and beauty of the land, not so much the towns or taverns. We would also consider a rental car trip but have no clue where to start or what to see. Also would like to know best time of year to visit, etc.

Would appreciate any input, Thanks jim and mag

TOpper.

Pionner Stereo has everything in one. 5.1 Dolby Surround System,

Front and Rear Day and Nignt Vision back up camera (can see who is in front and in back of you)

Navigation with turn by turn directions (that speak thru the speakers)

Head up display (Speed, voltage, timer, slop and compass built in)

DVD, CDR, MP3, CD

Ipod,

Bluetooth,

XM Radio, and still has room to put everything you would that on a road trip (we never can take all th thing we want to take) :).

Hawg-Wired Amps (the best there is) I use them all.

He does his own custom speaker (no problem hearing them with any type of pipes)

I will post some pic later.

Also all control work by the factory harley control.

Let me know is anyone need stereo advise.

I want to personally thank Mark (Ironhorse) for leading the Kiwi's, Keith and Doreen, and I from the Sagebrush Cantina in Calabasas down the 101 freeway to the 405 where he split off.  It was hot as hell on those bikes and the 101 was clogged, but instead of splitting lanes and putting our guests in danger, Mark hung with us until it was safe to speed up.  With his skill set he could easily banzai past that mess, but chose not to.

Not that I think for one minute Kiwi would have been left in anyone's dust.  The man can flat-out ride the wheels off a motorcycle.

Lastly, thanks to Wrongway for leading a fantastic ride through the mountains and valleys.  Wow.  Great job!  110 Mofo, too.  You guys are da bomb and your women are cute and friendly, too.

And, it appears we have a very talented new member, Terry of Hawg Sounds.  He has raised the audio and accessory bar a little higher, so get your wallets out.  This is gonna be fun.

Hey Greet Slide. I've been in sporadic contact with Kiwi. I'm not sure he checks the site regularly as he is off doing the SoCal vacation thing. Kiwi and his brother in law are taking the course from me on Saturday. Send me a PM or e-mail to mark@ridelikeaprowestcoast.com. with your phone and e-mail contact info. I'll give it to Kiwi on Saturday.

Mark

Don't know what to think. Have not heard from the Kiwi's since? Hope they made it home safe.
