To all that enjoyed our N. GA. area,

I am so happy to hear and see of your enjoyment of our state's offerings.  In addition, I am pleased to enjoy the tax dollars you bring into our state.

Please note, I invite you back as offer as you would like to visit.  We can utilize the tax dollars.

All a side, it appears everyone enjoyed themselves...That's great!!!

 :)

I get to ride those roads every weekend . . . .

John, first let me say:  [smiley=sauer019.gif] [smiley=sauer019.gif] [smiley=sauer019.gif]
I have to drive 700 miles to do stuff like that!

Second, when I pulled into Jonathan Creek Inn on Sunday night, there was a yellow SSR in the parking lot.  I thought, woo-hoo, Buffy's here! :D  But then, in the morning, a gentleman and his wife got in it and it wasn't you. :(

I guess it would have been more correct to say, "another gentleman." [smiley=oops.gif]

I met Bob and Ilene (on the Jalepeno) randomly on my way up 441 on Saturday. Rode with them for 150 miles or so. Very nice people.

I didn't mention anything because I really didn't know where I was going. I left home with a general idea and winged it from there. My favorite kind of ride. I snapped a few pics of Jonathan Creek with the fall leave backdrop. I will post those once I make it to the office. Wish I could have met up with you guys. Maybe next time.

[highlight][/highlight]  Hey Matt, it's Bob.  Just wanted to say thanks again for the great ride and the tip about the site.  I was so excited to find out about it that I signed up on the hotel computer on Sunday morning.  I've learned more about CVO's in the last few days than I knew after owning one for a year and a quarter.  103ThunDer, it was great to meet you too.  Anytime you guys want to ride, just let me know, I'm always ready.

Were you in Helen, GA Saturday?  If so, did you find a FLHRSEI.ORG card on your bike?

Life's journey is not to arrive safely at the grave in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out shouting Holy Chit......... What a Ride!

No, it wasn't me, looked like my bike though.  We were riding with Laker on the way to Asheville.

Tbone, welcome to the site!  Glad you are already finding it useful!  It was great meeting you as well!  I wish we'd have had a chance to talk more.  I didn't want to bother you guys too much since you were eating lunch, but it is always great to see another CVO owner out on the road and tell them about the site!

Take care, enjoy the site, and ride safe!  I'm sure we'll meet up again sometime!

Thanks for the welcome Brian.  I'm spending so much time here I'll probably be in trouble!

Welcome TBone, a few of us know what you mean about spending a little time here.  Wait till it gets too cold to ride.  Whew!

You have already met some of the fabulous folks who set here a spell.  You will get lots of opportunities to meet a lot more, I am sure.

Enjoy.

Personally I have heated grips and I own heated clothes, that I loath to resort to.  I have fleece to put under/over etc.  My answer is - as long as there is not ice on the road, NO! It never gets too cold to ride.  The cold and the darkeness does tend to increase the hours away from the bike and allows for some friendly computer side chatting and surfing.

I do, however, find that when you get in the 104 and higher temps - it gets too warm to ride.  There is only so many pieces of clothing you can remove and still ride, without getting arrested.

haaa haaa haaa!              ;D ;D

Brian,

It would appear that you took some pics while riding?  If so, was this produced with a hand held digital camera while riding or some other stationary method?

The quality is great whatever the method...

Thanks,

Dick

Dick, thanks for the comments.  The photos where you can see the windscreen in the shot (and a couple where you cannot) were taken with the bike moving anywhere between 30 and 45 mph (depending on conditions) with the cruise set.  I used a Canon PowerSot A75 which is a 3.2 mega pixel digital camera.  I continue to be impressed by the quality this relatively low-end unit produces.  Plus, it powers up very quickly and is made to fit your hand, making shots like those possible.

The 4x6 prints I had made of these photos are equally impressive. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
