MYCVO,
When I wrote/posted this I was going by information on purchase order/warranty paperwork and hadn't looked at my bike. However after your post I went and actually looked at bike, and my VIN does have the "PJ" in it, it is on the VIN plate (if you are standing in front of bike it will be on the frame neck on your right side (primary side), and also it is engraved on the opposite side in the frame itself). Be interesting if others are finding "PJ" or not. Also check your purchase order, bill of sale, and registration see what that has.

FireOOd,  I as well was going by my paperwork from the dealer, and yup it's on the plate sticker and registration. That is a little odd that the original paperwork would have the VIN wrong. [smiley=oops.gif]

A couple more places where we talked about what the dealer's have the option to give you. Seem widely varied.  I was super impressed to get my certificate in the mail.

Congratulations Porthole for shopping at what would appear to be a great dealership. You better thank them for being so thoughtful to you. I got one too, and it is special.  There were discussions about this a little bit ago, I will provide the links if more of you would like to see others who got this special recognition from their dealerships for buying such a very special bike. It is a very nice touch.

 [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] Tony,
I guess everyone has a story...... [smiley=nixweiss.gif] every dealer has there way of doin' it. Some even give you 15% off on stuff for your new purchase for 2 years, and others just say, thanks ! bring your bike back for the 1000 mile service so we can get more of your hard earned $$$$$$.

The dealer doesn't have to apply for it...comes with the bike. My dealer said it had to stay with the bikes docs. in their file. I finally got it tho.
Tonys,
Thats the first thing that went through my mind, MY DEALER IS HOLDING MY DOCS.

Wow, can you believe this... The MoCo did do something in logical order. Since my bike is a 2004 and it has "PJ" in the VIN, and Mrs.WECVO has a 2005, and her VIN has "PK" and we all know from kindergarten that "K" follows "J". Then it would be safe to assume that a 2004 FLHTCSE would have "PJ" in the VIN, and a 2005 FLHTCSE2 would have "PK" in the VIN. Will wonders ever cease

The VIN breakdown attached.  By the way, the sequential number (last 6 digits) can't be used to determine the number of total units.  Manufacturers do not normally start at 000001 and go up; they normally use a different first digit to differentiate between different models.
