My "new" SEEG....
« on: June 12, 2010, 10:29:36 PM »

Okay, got her bought & have my new "rider", not a tour
renter.
In the "buying" area, looking for billet tour pak hinges,....
now, most efficient way to go for six speed gear set, motor
work to get to 100+ HP & + 125 torque. I know the threads
are out there, but am old & lazy,....please chime in...
2Lane, porthole, JCZ, others. help me out here. would
like the benefit of your experience. Just want to make
those silly 110" guys wonder what happened....
but, as financially efficient as possile....
Thanks.
RESPECT
Jerry

Email to dickelk@aol.com to ask about the billet hinges.  125 ft pds of torque will take more than the common basics.  Quite a bit more probably.  However, a good exhaust and breather upgrade and a set of the Freedom cams will let you see the 110-115.  The Zippers cams might not get total tq quite so high but will bring what you get in just a bit earlier.  So it depends on your riding style.

Two most commonly mentioned six speed options are the Baker and the Screamin Eagle gear sets.  Different ways to go at the same task.  Both do the job.  The SE gear set is quite a bit cheaper.

Enjoy the new bike and have loads of fun :2vrolijk_21: .

Pull that motor, drop in an S&S, hook up the battery and go!
 :2vrolijk_21:
I was after the same on my old bike and did the heads, cams, etc, etc and still was not where I wanted to be.
Went the "crate motor" route, and I've been a happy camper ever since!
You can gear the bike to pull a higher final drive ratio with that power, and low gear will still be ok. No real need for a six speed.
JMHO

BTW: nice looking bike!

Don't think the pic was there to begin with.  If it was I blew right past it.  Nothing great about the Rineharts for tq production.  Though they are excellent for making lots of unremunerative noise :drink: .

So, along with the air horn, white walls, the pipes need to go.....
what do you recommend as replacement, for the pipes?
Thanks!

I have the stock head pipes with SE 98B Slip-Ons.  SE Air Cleaner and Zippers 575 Gear Drive Cams.  100 HP, 117 Ft Lbs Torque.  Close to the numbers you are looking for and I have only about $750 into the motor.

Rinehart has a set of quiet baffles that make great low in torque.

I have the Rinehart true duals also and absolutely love the way they sound. Would not ditch them for anything. IMO bagger's do not look right with a 2 into 1 set up, not to mention not found of the sound.

I will agree the air horns and white walls gotta go. I don't mind the white walls on a nice Heritage Softail if done right..
