Tail Pipes not centered
« on: February 19, 2009, 08:05:22 PM »

Does anyone know how to center the tail pipes?  My left pipe is closer to the bag skirt than the right one.  It drives me crazy that this is off and not just a little bit either.  Thanks!

I had good luck loosening the inlet clamps and turning the mufflers until they were uniformly spaced.

Same here...look at the clamp on the front of the muffler where it ties into the exhaust pipe, losen it up and twist to center then tighten up the clamp. It is a pretty simple fix once you figure out what needs to be adjusted.

Mine are both a bit off center to the outside. I figure I'll true them up when I pull the mufflers for the Fullsac install.

It's a piece of cake to sort them out. Loosen up the clamps and twist them into position. It's really that simply. Good Luck

What amazes me is every one I see (pictures) is like that, left side not centered. and if the fix is really that easy wouldn't it be pretty easy to put it on right in the first place?

One would think on a hand assembled bike that'd jump out before it left the line. Alas. Thankfully most of us will be changing out the pipes anyway and they'll end up being right. Geesh, the simple chit makes me crazy.
