Other "Activities"
« on: November 11, 2006, 08:45:42 AM »

Besides our CVO bikes, what other activities do we enjoy?  I am dividing my time between my CUSE and achieving my private pilot's license.  It is difficult to explain the sense of satisfaction I feel when I nail a perfect landing, or finally perform any maneuver in textbook fashion.  I'm still very new, but it has been so much fun.  Reminds of when I first starting riding over 30 years ago.

I play online poker, $130k plus in tournament winnings in 2 years.

This is how I supplement my Chrome fetish and ...and actually paid for my '06 in 9 months time, and the '69 Vette the year before that, and a few other various goodies that I wouldnt of bought if I didnt have this 'dirty' money. I still havent hit the big score yet, some 1st place prizes in the tourneys I play are up to $190k for a $215 buy in.  my best so far in that one is #23, went out on a bad beat, I was so close, and all I was thinking before I busted out was....'that sure will buy a lot of chrome.'

Heh, I resemble that remark. Who has time for other hobbies/pastimes when this one is/can be so expensive? [smiley=confused5.gif]

If I'm not working, I'm here finding ways to spend money so then I have to go back to work. [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

Hunting and fishing, mostly out of country fishing in Canada (northern pike and walleye), elk hunting primarily (New Mexico, Montana, Washington, Colorado) some local deer hunting more for the camping trip. First moose trip this year to Yukon Territory.

Golf.  Currently building a second home in eastern Washington on a private course designed by Tom Doak.  www.tumblecreek.com

Travelling.  By CVO, motorhome, car, plane, boat anyway to get away. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

OK, I want Roger's job :D.  (No pun intended.)

I spend most of my non-working hours on bike-related stuff...HOG chapter (I'm treasurer and newsletter editor), rallies, poker runs, etc., and my other hobby is cigars, which I can blend in with bikes.  Oh yeah, I also dabble in screwing up ECMs on my bike... I just started that hobby. >:(

Don't mean to be a party poop, but motorcycles are it for me. As a matter of fact, I was going to start a thread about riding when I saw this one and figured Ah what the hell, they're used to me doing whatever I want anyway.

I have heart problems. Stress makes it worse. When I had my knee done I went into fibrilation and was a mess for 4 days. Cardiologist said a lot of it was stress. So when I got well, they told me to find ways to reduce the stress in my life. Only thing I've ever done in my whole 53 years on God's green earth that works for me is riding motorcycles. This afternoon is a classic example of that.

Well, Big B you hit the nail on the head with that post.

If we all, here and everywhere in the world could find that place, it would be a beautiful world.

Glad you found/have it and may you never lose it. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
