As a physical therapist, I marvel at the beautiful quality of his movement and function; knowing the tremendous work he had to do to achieve that. As a rider, I so admire his approach and outlook - moving forward. Only forward. As cyclists that's our only choice! No reverse!

It's great to feel so uplifted by just a 'visit' to the forum. Thanks to Charlie; thanks to you all.

Don't know if my attitude would be as good as his in those circumstances and I hope I never have to find out. It's amazing when you look back in your life and think of all the stupid things you've done and took for granted knowing it could all be taken away from you in a flash, but you still gamble anyway. This is one of the best stories I've read/watched in a long time.

He went with the "keep the leg and foot" program. That was a year and half ago and the brace halo whatever you call it is most likely staying on for another 1 - 2 years as his bones grow.

He still has reservations about not just doing the "cut"
