Terrie and I got up very early yesterday morning and rode south to Eagle's Nest Harley Davidson.....well, actually the Kountry Kitchen where we met Jon & Susan for breakfast.
From there we rode further south to Modesto Harley Davidson where we hooked up with Ernie and Michael. We immediatly got back on the highway and continued south to Hilmar to hook up with Don & Soozie.
Stopped at the gas station in Hilmar and Van was standing there lookin kind of lost.......he was. ;)

Don & Soozie came on over to the gas station. Soozie rode her new (to her) yellow SEEG. That was just odd to see two bannanas together. :)

and we got to the hotel in Clovis and soon a new couple to the Nor Cal group came rollin in. This is Don & Carol (D31960) 09 SERG.

We all got checked in and unloaded, then walked over to the rodeo grounds (two short blocks) where the event was already under way.
It was a fund raiser for the Clovis to build a new volunteer animal shelter. And since it was about the critters.......the Clovis Police Dept. put on a demonstration with a couple of their police K9s.

They asked for a volunteer from the audiance but didn't get any takers. Interesting how they use the biggest, most buffed officer to be the guy to climb in the padded suit....guinnea pig. :huepfenlol2:

These dogs are kind of like pit bulls.......once they lock on they're not letting go.

They did a number of demonstrations......removing the suspect from the vehicle, attacking the suspect while the officer is out of site behind a car, etc. etc.

This dog here looked the friendliest going in to it. But once he was on stage, this dog looked deadly scarry. He was/is also about twice as fast as the shepard and could leap ten feet from a run, to get his victim. It was clear that while we don't want any of these dogs chasing us, this is the very last dog that you want chasing you. Look in his eyes...... :nervous:

I tried to get a shot of him in the air, as he leaped.....he was just way to fast. Maybe somebody else got one of the live shots.

Checking out and loading up this morning.....

We had breakfast at a local restaurant. Then the southern crew headed south, Ernie and Micahel headed sout/west and the rest of us headed for Oakhurst and pretty much duplicating the first half of the Hwy. 49 Tour again.
It was a little more comfortable today, but we rode in t-shirts all day. Yesterday it got up to 92F. :o

It doesn't matter what month or what season it is, Hwy. 49 is always a beautiful ride...............

We intended to come down the mountain Saturday morning but she caught a bad case of 24 hour flu. Guess I could think of worse places to get stuck. :nixweiss:

Didn't notice you waving but I told Terrie (via intercom) that was you. Bryan had told us that your girlfriend got sick and that you were up at Bass Lake so as soon as I saw your bike I knew it was you. :2vrolijk_21:
