From Zion to Durango.....be sure to take a short detour of Monument Valley up through Mexican Hat then back down to Four Corners.  You'll also want to check out the indian cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde NP in southwest Colo. :2vrolijk_21:

We were looking at that.  The ride is scheduled 9-19 May.  I'll be sure to post pics and provide a full ride report for everyone.  Can't wait  ;D

I have been down the coast on many occasions.  There isn't a better ride.  I am glad you enjoyed it.  If and when you have them time you need to head north.  You will not be disappointed.

Awesome route..and Ride, how many days did you spend on it?? Wife and I did same route last year but took it further south into San Diego and back through Death Valley...tons of stops, took us 5 days and  one of my best rides ever.. This year we are thinking of riding the coast north from San Francisco to Eugene and back on I-5...

We were riding for 4 days straight. glorious days, all the beauty is sometimes to much to take in. Must have taken 300 picks of highway 1 alone. Made some movies going through the twisties while holding my camera in one hand and steering with the other. ( no go pro can yet )  What strikes me as odd though, there is a surprising absence of guard rails along the coastal rout. I mean, one small mistake and you are going over the side!!!   Really had to watch when the speeds went up to 60, 70 mph.  Also the off season is the time to go, It is a bit cooler but you get the whole road to your self.  I will definitely go back and ride that road again. And I will go north from San Fran to check it out. Cheers.
