My first time across the ferry was the late 70s on my Sportster.

Even living here and having to take the ferry to Ocracoke I never get tired of the view/ride.

DanteD - We're definitely taking the Cape May Ferry to NJ and then run up to NY for my wife's HS shindig...

Have done the Ocracoke Ferry myself.  As I recall,  you need to pay particular attention to "timing" of the day if you are headed south.  At certain times of the year,  a late day start and trying to make the last ferry trip of the day,  can be very "problematic" if you don't get there in time.  There are limited motel/Inn accomodations in the area and it's a damn long trip to have to go way back up and out of there to find a place to stay until the next ferry in the morning. :nixweiss:

One time,  I believe we got one of the last rooms available in the area............ :drink:
