Title: Fork Lock knob issue
Post by: 49erHogrider on January 25, 2021, 01:45:19 AM
Does anyone have this problem.  When I have the fork knob in the unlock position or even in the in between when I open the lid it hits the bottom of the infotainment?  I have a 2014 CVO Ultra Limited.

I have a 14 and rubs.  Was easier for them to put the clear tape on than design clearance.

It's normal. I've yet to see a CVO with this setup that doesn't have a few marks in the clear tape from people trying to open the key cover when the switch is in the incorrect position.
But you are correct, piss poor design by the cheap motor company.

I have a 2015 limited and checked the clearance yesterday,  it doesn't rub in all positions.

Yes, same problem. The clear tape protector looks really cheezy

The clear protection tape is there for a reason. If you hadn't noticed the strip of tape, look at the picture you posted and you will see it.

I have a 2015 Limited and have only one time turned the knob.  I decided that my off switch, alarm and insurance were covering me quite well and I won't scratch the paint for a lack of engineering innovation.
