Title: 27603-01
Post by: TonyO77 on July 06, 2021, 11:45:35 AM
Anyone know where I can get a 27603-01 throttle body or if there’s a parts break down available?
Mine has a broken throttle shaft.
I’m pretty sure I could weld it back together if I can figure out how to get the shaft out.
Or just replace the whole throttle body if I can get one.

Got the shaft out, not so sure it can be welded up.
Does anyone know if another throttle body uses the same shaft, all I need is the shaft but I will buy the whole throttle body if I have to, I have checked all over the place, and I’m told that they are on back order until November, I really don’t want to have to wait until then if I don’t have to

Hey Tony, could you share with us your application so this doesn't turn in to a bunch research for those of us that may have extra parts laying around?
Your profile doesn't say what you ride either.

Thanks

I have a 2004 SEEG, with a stock throttlebody, the only modification that have been made to the engine are Rinehart slip on’s and head pipes. I just put a new cam plate and oil pump in it, new lifters and adjustable pushrods. Other than that it is stock.I got the throttle shaft out, it is snapped in two right where the butterfly attached to the throttle shaft. At this point I would settle for a throttle shaft that maybe I can make work

I found an HPI throttle body, it’s 55mm, mine is 46, I ordered it, should have it Thursday, they say it’s a direct replacement that is compatible with OEM parts, we shall see

I have one off an '06 CVO Ultra.  Different part number:  27708-06B.  Yours is a two piece unit, mine is one piece.  But the throttle shaft might be the same.

Anyone have any idea how much the 55mm throttle body is going to throw my tune off?
I have Rinehardt true duals and stock cams in it, 2004 SEEG

You WILL need a tune....Onward and upward!

Tune will be significantly effected and you'll lose some bottom end.  55mm is a LOT of throttle body for a 103.

Just looked on eBay.  Expected 2000-2005 Delphi type throttle bodies to be relatively common used offering.  Nope.  Not very many at all and STUPID expensive; at least compared to what I was expecting.  The link below is the cheapest thing currently listed.  I'll dig threw all my spare crap in the next few days (had been wanting to sort some of it anyway).  I know I've got some bits and pieces like fuel rails, injectors, sensors, etc; but not sure I've got a housing.  If do will let you know.

Twolane, I ordered a new throttle body with manifold, the part I need to fix my old one is the throttle shaft, mine snapped at the screw hole. Hopefully I won’t have to tune it, since it seems to run a little rich( based on my reading of the plugs) and it’s a 55mm and the stock is I believe a 46mm

My recollection was 2001-2005 (2000 Softail) was 44mm with 46mm beginning in 2006 with the new throttle body that year.  As with all things I can easily be mistaken though.

The stock TB is actually pretty good up through the mid 110s for engine output.  Stock Delphi throttle body on my Road Glide right now is handling 11?/11? low to mid one-teens with no problem.  I didn't go with a bigger throttle body because I didn't want to push the torque curve uphill.

On yours changing the throttle body should necessitate changes to the tune.  That's a significant change too.  And you'll end up trading some low end for some top end.

I had a 103 in a bike like yours that I only took to 107 (didn't touch the bottom end) but did significant head work, it had a wee bit more compression, and it had the slightest of extra cams in it.  That bike was in the low 120s with a conservative tune.  In it I only ran a 50mm throttle body.  Any more and I'd have been trading bottom end for top up where I'd almost never ride the bike.

I wound up finding a 51mm with the stock 1.66 intake runners, I’m going to return the 55, I didn’t read the specs close enough, it had 1.88 runners.
I figure the 51 will be all I need even if I change cams this winter

I still would like to try to fix the throttle bodies that I have all I need is the shaft that’s a butterfly attaches to to repair the one I have. If anyone knows of someone the fours or refurbishes stock throttlebody and could put me in touch with them I would appreciate it if they are like any other mechanics I know they may have parts laying around that they took out of one they board or refurbished that would fit my throttlebody

Ok Tony, dug through my spares and found a complete throttle body from 01-05 Delphi.  It's all there.  All the sensors, injectors (white band), IAC motor, intake, even the flanges are still on it.  No idea how long I've had it but it was all wrapped  in plastic wrap and stored away.  So with it you'd have a full set of spares for all the sensors and injectors.

If interested let me know.  $150 shipped.

Anyone know where I can get a 27603-01 throttle body or if there’s a parts break down available?
Mine has a broken throttle shaft.

Hi there

i also found the (http://)throttle shaft broken in two halfs at my 2003 Delphi EFI Electra Glide.
I would like to know how to get out the right hand side of the throttle body ?
The side where the cables and the spring is located.
I have removed everything (butterfly lid ,nuts and bolts ,safety clips) but it will not come out.
Is there a further clip underneath the black plastic roller on the right hand side ?
thanks for your help
