Title: Fork mounted driving / fog lights advice
Post by: rondolg on September 13, 2021, 07:02:18 AM
As I've gotten older I try to stay off the roads after it gets dark.  Sometimes it's just not possible.  I'm looking to put some extra lighting on the front of my 17 CVO limited.  Does anyone have fork mounted LEDs they would recommend?  I've looked at the Harley lights, but would really like something that turns with the bars.

Thanks much.

I have the clearwater Darlas and love them. No issues in the 5 years of so that I've had them.

I have the Harley lights on lower guards and have to say I’m not impressed with the light output.  Best thing is they do get you noticed by oncoming vehicles.  They are more fog light than spot and throw a wide enough beam that I have not noticed issues with them not being fork mounted.

I have always used Motolights and never had a problem with them.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.  It seems that prices vary widely from 300$ to over 800$.  Now to research the chit out of them and see which way I want to go.

In regards to turning with the forks, You lean the bike, you don't turn the forks much if any. Maybe just me but I can tell no difference in my Road Glides vs the Kings and Electra's I had at night, assuming the lighting was the same. A car is different, you turn the wheel, but a bike you mostly lean it for turns.
