Post by: CVOjunkie on November 05, 2010, 08:18:01 PM
Has anybody done a 103 to a 117 ? Iam currently at a 107 but would like to go larger what would you suggest for a 04 seeg?

107 is the biggest you can go with the stock case bore and crank. So you'll be splittin the cases for boring and possible going to a longer stroke crank for more cubes. What kind of HP and TQ. Numbers are you looking for? Whatever you choose I would not use a bore larger than 4-1/8" with the stock cases.

We have built a ton of 117" here. Folks pile on the miles without issues.
Mighty easy to show 125/135, and more if wanted.

I have already split the cases once because of poor crank run out  while i was there i had it trued and welded and the timkin bearing installed last winter. Is there really a question on what i want to turn out ? is there ever too much horsepower and torque if so I have not found it yet. With the 107 it turned out 115 hp and 138 tq on the dyno. Now iam bored with it and feel like spending more money I guess.

If that is the case pull it apart and go for an S&S 124 crank and accompanying parts.  Also have the heads checked for clearances and flow to be sure it can support the 124.  May also want to look into a larger throttlebody I have an hpi 62mm on mine.  If you are heavy on the throttle another thing to take a look at is chain over belt.  Belt breaking is easy and it can get expensive.

Good luck

Have used the Wood 408 in 124's.
Power is ALWAYS there, any time, in any gear.

138 Torque?  It that a misprint?  If  you are getting that why would you want to mess with it.  I don't believe I've ever heard of a 107" getting that kind of torque.

Sounds good to me too Chris.  Hopefully he'll share the build specs for the 107".  The 107" in the red bike is good.  But it's not that good.

The build specs are of coarse 107 rev performance 10.5.1 pistons stock heads reworked to get the cc down where needed larger valves springs and shaved .030 to help get the squish where it was needed. I also run a gear drive with Head quarters 575 cam . The intake and throttle body are Kurayakyn wild thang and a rolland sands air cleaner with 2 into 1 D&D pipe with a powercommander to run it all. And yes it runs good but i pull a trailer two up and would like to have more? I guess I should just be happy with what I have already got? I also forgot to mention the normal fueling pump and cam plate.

Not all that much different from mine actually.  50 mm TB, Mackie 598 cams and headwork to mate to Axtell's cylinders and pistons.  Headwork and other bits to have CR at about 10.25:1.  It's tuned at a bit better than 120/120 but did so in February.  Picked up a teeny bit of detonation later that year and tweaked it down a bit.  Ended up about in the mid teens and upper teens.

Mine comes in early enough even if I jacked it up more I wouldn't bring that much of the gain in early enough to really be a big deal doing things like pulling the Bushtec down the highway or playing in the mountains.  I could get more out of it.  Even in its current configuration there is more if I wanted to tune for it.  As is she runs great and comes in well very early.  Would take some significant changes to get more and get that addition in early enough I'd notice it for regular cruising or pulling.
