The "2021 Electra Glide Revival" costs more than the original's current value or what you can buy a 1969 Electra Glide for. More than likely the 2021 model will not last as long as the original (52 years). :nixweiss:

Harley, Harley, Harley...what are you doing?  Who’s making decisions at HD?  You stopped making retro bikes years ago because they didn’t sell.  Now, when you need to draw younger riders, you introduce a bike that appeals to great-grandfathers.  Where’s the entry level, 100+ hp, water-cooled bike?  Where’s the performance bagger to compete with the IM Challenger?

That was the color and bike I loved as a Kid.  They did a good job recreating it.  My thoughts is it will sell to people over 54 quite well.

I do not think it will attract younger customers.

What are your thoughts on the new "Icons Collection"?
Looks pretty cool to me.

Not a fan the first of the series but I think a lot of folks are.  Based on comments here and on other forums it has been well-received, for the most part.  I’m interested to see the next release and if they bring back the Bad Boy, THAT would be awesome!

I like the general look of the bike, but if it had been me doing it, I would have made it without the fairing with a road king windshield. Then sold the fairing as an accessory like it would have been in 1969 if someone wanted a fairing.

This would have made the bike much less expensive and reduced some weight also.

For the next Icon I would go back to 1956 and make an FL using the Heritage as the base. Maybe even redo the old style fiberglass saddlebags like a 56 would have had as an accessory. The paint striping on a 56 was distinctive.

Maybe I have a different take. Younger folks like the looks of nostalgic rides, but with modern tech. Look at who is buying the “restomods”. Dodge Challengers sell well. I think Harley might be on to something.
Old school looks on a new school ride.

^^^^ I agree with Threephase, time will tell. A good friend of mine actually has the original, in blue as well. He bought the bike in his early 20s and still rides it! Pretty cool idea, but not for everyone. As it should be!

You could make that bike for so much less.  Take a used white Street Glide, have the tank and fenders painted blue, and add a Buddy Seat. What's the big deal?  They are really targeting a specific group.  Sixty plus year old men who want that specific bike because it brings them back to their youth.  But I guess that applies to all of us CVO owners too,...LOL!!
