Martha's Vineyard
« on: May 29, 2005, 03:45:17 PM »

took advantage of the first nice saturday since getting home from Soggy Valley.  me and the wife took off about 7:30 and headed south towards cape cod and down to the ferry terminal at woods hole. its great being on a motorcycle you go to the front of the line with no reservation and ususally get on the first ferry we had hoped to catch the 9:30. it didnt quite work out and we had to wait an hour and take the 10:30. it was a mad house one of the ferrys wasnt running and we talked to one family that had reservations for the 7:30 ferry and were still waiting after the 9:30. its a 45 minute ride to the island once we got there we clocked about 50 miles running the perimiter of the island then stopped for lunch. hoped on the 2:45 ferry back it was almost empty seemd funny in contrast to the morning ride over. we got back to woods hole and there were still lines of cars waiting to get over to the island for the weekend. headed north for home and just missed some rain only got some water washing up off the road. made it home around 5:45 its a bit pricey to take a bike over just to spend one day but its worth it. it was $72 total for the king me and the wife round trip. snapped a few pics i'll get them up in a couple of days when i get back into my office
