New FLSTSE Owner
« on: March 13, 2010, 04:19:32 PM »

Officially signed the paper work today on a new FLSTSE. Having a set of V&H Big Radius 2-into-2 installed. Should be able to bring it home next weekend. Hoping for nice weather here in central Ohio by then.

Congratualtions on the new ride!  Your sound will be something with the Big Radius.  Look forward to pics when you get her home.

Welcome to the Forum and more significantly, welcome to the open road on your new bike.

You will note lots of discussion here on the right pipes for this bike.  The stock pipes sound, "like a sewing machine" and that is from the salesman that sold it to me!

You will also note that once you take it down the road, that the tiny farring/windshield was cleverly designed by Harley-Davidson to provide maximum buffeting at any speed over 5 mph.  The wind is actually worse with the shield in place than without it!  Some folks here are waiting for H-D to note the obvious problem and design an improved farring/windshield.  Some of us are also waiting for Bo Dereck to run down that beach into OUR arms as well.  I don't think either one will happen any time soon.  Just go buy a Fat Boy shield and be done with it - believe us, it does look good on the bike.

Having said all that, it is a great looking bike with a good sized powerplant - enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.

Congrats.  Love your color combination and am a big fan of the bike in stripped down mode.

Another welcome from Long Island. I have the same color and she does look great in the sun. Spend some time going through the posts in this forum we have already hashed out a lot regarding the ConV.

Enjoy!

Great choice....you'll love it.

Along with some mods outlined by some of the other guys, might want to consider "cooling" the bike down using one of the several tuning options that get the AFRs into a 13.5 range. The stock bike, due to EPA runs around 14.5, and at idel even in the winter, after a few minutes, when the oil temp hits 275, the ETIMS kicks in and shuts fuel down to the real jug. After changing my pip[es, I installed a TMAX with autotune and wide band O2 sensors. I dopped nearly 50 deg off my idel temperature, plus the bike runs better thru all ranges.

Ride safe and congrats on the new bike

Picked up our new FLSTSE yesterday after waiting all week. The wait was worth it for the new exhaust system. Here are a couple pictures I took this morning with my phone. We will get some better pics after things start to turn green here in Ohio. We did manage to get in 150 miles today so the break-in persiod is well underway.

Congrats, bike looks sweettttt.

I'm in eastern Ohio and got mine last week.

I need to pick what pipes or slip ons I'm going to go with, and what mod to make it run cooler, any suggestions.

Thanks
