My oldest brother who is a professional painter is begging me to let him shoot clear on my bike. He just hates that you can see and feel the raised paint schemes. It's his big peeve.

Plus, he said that if I did it I would have a much simpler fix to road chips since he could simply sand and buff the thicker clear. He painted my brothers '05 Deuce this winter (all House of Kolours). It must have a million coats of clear on it.

I don't know.......Sound like a winter project.

There could be a reason that they don't pile up the clear coats on that fairing...it is not steel and prolly flexs more than you think.  spyder

I know HD do touch up paint kits (I had one for my softail) but is there one for the Kryptonite colour????

There will be. But you better be ready to grab the edge of the counter and bend over.  I priced one for my bike last Saturday.  £31.00 + VAT  (= a total of around $60 US!) for two little touch up bottles.  Just like their CVOs (I told them I wouldn't be buying another, after 3 CVO Ultra Classics in 3 years), they can FRO!  I work too hard for my money to be ripped off like that.

:o You amaze me!  You don't think £30 for a few ml of paint is one of the most astonishing ripoffs on the planet?  No way would I pay that, ever, even if I was Bill Gates himself.  Unfortunately, as long as there are people who'll pay it, they'll keep on charging such disgraceful prices.   :nixweiss:

Of course it's expensive but all I'm saying is that given that we've paid nearly 30 grand for a bike an extra £30 wont make that much of dent!!

Unfortunately this is the downside of buying into the HD lifestyle!

You could find the touch-up kits on eBay awhile back, but haven't seen them on there lately.  Maybe they stopped producing those little bottles in any consistant volumes.  spyder

Yes there is, I just got one.  The kit actually includes the Kryptonite green, the dark green, and black touch up paints.  I believe it cost somewhere around $58.00 US.  If you would like I could get you the part number off of the kit this evening when I get home

Travis, didn't you get your touch up paint with your bike??? When I got my Nana I got a set of 3 in the tour pack. Yellow, Grey and Clear coat. Have they quit doing that????

Spyd, with my experiences with Bumpus in Memphis, I would say they are great to me! I have said it before and I say it again I feel like family when ever I stop in. :2vrolijk_21:

Jim, when I was waiting for my nana to arrive I could have sworn I heard others that got theirs saying they got touch up paint. :nixweiss: I remember asking my dealer about it and I did get some with mine. Whether they just threw it in, I don't know. What I do know is if I ever get another one, they will have to throw it in again for me to make the deal. :D
