                                            BUT DID YOU KNOW? (I DIDN'T)
That the column was built in honor of Admiral Nelson (figure at the top) of Queen Vitoria's navel fleet. He was fatally wounded in the defeated navel battle of Napoleon's armada invasion of England in 1805.
This is what I thought was interesting,.. that the lions were made from the melted down cannons from Napoleon's capcured ships. WOW who would have thought!! For those of you that have visited London and have touched the lions you have touched the cannons of Napoleon's fleet, did any one know this?

Have been right there, had no idea about the melted cannons. For those who are going later, don't miss one of the worlds best unadvertised thrill rides......get on the front upstairs seat on a double-decker bus. WoW!

For those of you that have visited London and have touched the lions you have touched the cannons of Napoleon's fleet, did any one know this?

Had I known ............. Would have had to go do a touchy feely thing  
Been there twice now, both times with near perfect weather.
