Russ, just back from the first 50 mile test ride. My impression is perhaps just a skooch higher than stock. But, the backrest (my first ever) eliminates my habitual "high mileage slouch" and I sit up straighter. So that magnifies the impression. I'll try a ride without the rider's backrest and let you know how that feels. May be a few days, more snow is on the way. 70 today, snow and 30s coming. Ah, springtime in the Rockies!

Mustang Seat w/ rider backrest -- more pics

Moderator, you could merge all these photos with my earlier post on this topic http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=47294.0
Thanks.

Note that the two-up luggage rack fits perfectly. This is a much more comfy seat than stock, no wrinkles when the rider backrest is installed. The bride MUCH prefers the 13.5" pillion and the taller passenger backrest. With the 8.5" pillion and the stock (low) backrest, the profile is about as close to stock as possible. Mustang makes a fender bib for those who want to do away with the passenger pillion entirely.

I bought directly from Mustang. The solo w/backrest is $499 / the 13.5" pillion is $199 / the 8.5" pillion is $150 and the mounting bolts are a couple of bucks. I don't remember what the taller sissy bar costs. I negotiated that into the purchase price of my bike, but it's all HD. Mustang also makes backrest pads, but I already had this one.
