Picture your self riding down the road, on coming traffic, traffic right behind you and a mini van in front with a 9 foot deep ditch to you right. Then out of no where, some pecker wood leaves you a present in the road. A piece of slab wood 28 inches long, a foot wide and 5 inches thick. The question that goes through you bean at light speed, do I swerve left? No being a hood ornament is not good for your health record. Do I slam on the brakes, no the F150 that is right on my back is really going to hurt. Do I put her in that river Vally of a ditch, don't think so. Whoops in that nano second all these thoughts are going through your bean is too late any ways. WACK!!! Hit it straight on, send the bike over onto a front end wheelie, when the back comes down it is so violant that it opens your hard bags and throws some of the contents on the road way. As you are getting control, you hear that ah S!#t of tires screeching behind you. The guy comes bailing out of the F150 and screams "that was awesome dud, how did you not just go down". After I pulled the seat leather out of my back side I kinda snarl at the guy in the truck as I am walking back to claim my now prize peace of wood that I split in half with my bike. Front rim bent and broken, right side rotor gone, front tire shot, axle bent....Trailered it to my dealer and after the crash inspection all repairs, parts and labor zero dollars!!! No deductible, not one dime out of pocket! $2200.00 worth of damage, God am I glad I got the Tire and wheel insurance from Harley when I bought my bike!!! It just paid for itself! Pretty bad when the state boy says " how did you not go down". Luke and 40 years of two wheels!
