Just wondering everyone elses impression? New SE paint for a soft tail model that doesn't do it for me, also I have never been a fan of the springer since it was introduced in 1988. I think it was good it was finally included in the SE lineup though. I think we still need to see all of the new models in person.

Black and blue is not bad. Copper and red is ok. HATE the gold and tangerine!
-
I'd have to see it in person, the pics just don't do it for me but I have never been a springer fan. I am told this is the last year for the springer and this is why they decided to make a SE Springer. Kind of a nice send off if it is true.

Not a big fan of Springer front ends. [smiley=nixweiss.gif] Somewhere I remember hearing or reading that front bearings in this setup have a tendency to wear out sooner due to the fact that the axle is not inline w/the forks. [smiley=confused5.gif] Also had heard they handle differently then telescopic forks also, but can't testify to that since I've never ridden one.

I'm not a springer person either, but a springer doesn't conjure up pictures of performance in my head...

Ride one! I have loaned my Springer to a number of friends and they have all said the same thing, "They don't handle bad" as they/you all have been lead to believe. Never a bearing problem here @54,000 miles.
-
I too have a springer (FL Springer) and love the thing. It rides "different". No, it's not heavy like everyone will tell you. Heck, it's been around for a LONG time and even took the punishment of many unpaved battlefields....110 and 6 speeds on a bike like this...your face is gonna hurt from grinning so much!!! ;D
Cheers, [smiley=drink.gif]

Yes they do! Sooner or later if you've never riden a pogo stick, you will.
I'm still looking at another one, but I won't "push" it when I ride.
Only bike I have had a front blow out on, it handled that just fine a 80 on the freeway going straight. Man those tire go flat fast.
Anyway, I much prefer my DWG's over my springers.

i would love to see a springer front end on a road king.
so retro.

You can take my order right now if it could be delivered from the MoCo. CVO 110 RK Springer,
SERKS, yep, that would be me.

LOVE THOSE SPRINGERS!! my wife has a 05 and loves it a lot. I can't tell the differance from some of my older fxst's I've had.
-
Hmmm- Screamin Springer- that would be some kinda mix.. Myself I've yet to ride one but I've always like the look of it.
I'd have to hold that call until a concept pic was able to be seen.

Well, I just Bought a 2007 SE Springer in Red/Copper----so I guess I like them!! A whole lot!
I have a 1997 Her Springer with 40,000 on it no complaints --- I'll be keeping it too
I was just waiting for something that spoke to me if you know what I mean.
110 / 6 speed / custom Paint / wheels / etc did the trick
I'll let you fellows know how it works after I have a few miles on it.
Paid MSRP from the local dealer in Akron

heard the MOCO had dropped the Springer altogether from their line-up and this CVO springer must be the ultimate fairwell to this historic harley designed front end suspension.......can't wait to see one in the 'flesh' .. 8-)... har! spyder

We had the opportunity to see the red springer at the N. Richmond shop this past weekend. Wow - that is one gorgeous looking bike. They painted the frame and the springer front end. I always loved the springer front end all in chrome, but painted looks pretty good too. I have never ridden a bike like this, but I have never ridden a lot of bikes period, so even though I am not inclined to trade my SEEG for another bike, I admire this one and am so happy for those that will add this pony to the stables. Personally I think it ROCKS ! !
The bikes look BEST in person of course....Paint this year is fairly subtle with the exception of GOLD, which might be next.......

There has never been any official Harley statement, or even a hint from Harley that the Springer will be discontinued. The company did not include the classic springer in their '07 line-up, but did include it in the CVO line — simple as that. All else is pure speculation.
As to the springer front end not handling well, I have to disagree. Other than the '89 and '07 Springers that I currently own, I ride a Ducati 900FE, and frequently borrow my wife's Ducati Monster 750. My last Harley was a Dyna. I also ride dirtbikes, primarily Honda. What I am saying, is that I am no stranger to the telescopic fork or to performance style riding. The Springer front end handles quite nicely. I think it actually corners better than my '01 Dyna. I guess everything is subjective, and based on how an individual feels the feedback from the bike and the road.
Now I could go on about the handling of the Electraglide...but once again, that would be highly subjective, and incidentally, would not be a positive review. As a result, I do not own an Electraglide, and likewise, the negative posters on the Springer don't seem to own that model either! ;)
