My Dyno number look correct?
« on: July 16, 2021, 09:08:42 PM »

Hi all,

Just had my 21 SG 117 stage 2 done with the below mods

S&S Cam, lifters, pushrods
Cobra True dual headers
Khrome werks 4.5 mufflers with louvered inserts
Maximus Tuner

Result was 108HP, 128 Ft Torque - (uncorrected)

These seem a little low and lower than my 114 had with the same tuner and came, stock headers.

Just wondering anyone’s thoughts if something not right here?

Can you post the sheet?  It helps to see the curve.

Agreed and the m8 is very exhaust sensitive,  let's see the dyno.

See people making 120+ horsepower with same system in a 114 🤷‍♂️

Don't worry about the numbers.  Numbers are an arbitrary figure.  What matters is your torque curve, and that one looks pretty darn good.  Leave it.

Change the cam to a CR480 and change the head pipe to V&H power duals and now you will see the same or better torque and 120hp. Parts choices matter, the group of them and how they play together.  There are no good pipes, great cams, the best anything!
This is a less than good result for the dollars spent, in my opinion.

So you suggesting the S&S 475 cam and Cobra headers are no good? I have seen 120hp+ on 114’s with this setup?

I just spent alot on installing these don’t think im going to be swapping them out anytime soon.

I have since heard the 21 model tourers like mine are proving hard to get alot of HP out of due to tuning software limitations 🤷‍♂️

I Agree with HDSP, your setup is less than stellar for an M8 motor with what you've done. You asked for critique and indicated that you didn't think what you had was right. A well known builder gave you what you asked for and now you seem to want to be irritated with his opinion.
He didn't say the parts were no good he said they weren't the best when working together and I agree. Of course only my opinion.
I may be wrong but I believe the tuner that you used will only compensate fuel delivery in a small segmented application and will not allow for any timing changes, again, I could be wrong. Last I knew the tuning software for the full range tuners was still not available for the 21's. I haven't looked in a bit maybe someone else knows if this has changed?
