09 matching passenger footboards
« on: September 15, 2008, 08:30:42 PM »

Does anyone know if they make a matching floorboard kit for the passengers. Is there a kit that comes with everything or do I need to buy a bunch of different parts to make it happen ? My wife cant get used to the pegs and I think the kids would be more comfortable as well. I could always use the pegs that are there now for the crash bar if I could find brackets for them. I searched the HD site and they didnt list anything for the Rumble series of parts. I also looked for a service manual and the one they listed on the HD site was for an 08. Is there one available for the 09's yet?

Thanks for any help.

I checked the dealership the other day for them and I was told they would be released by the end of september and there are some other stuff you gotta buy. It's about a $300+ job.

Thanks again for the help. I got everything ordered except for the service manual. I checked with the HD website and they still show the manual for an 08 bike even though I am searching for the 09. If anyone happens to know that part # please let me know.

Excuse the newbie question, but is the service manual for the regular touring bikes the same one used for the CVO's.

"Newbie" here too.  Everyone has been great about sharing information, sophisticated or otherwise....  I understand there is a "CVO" supplement but have not seen it yet.  HD Price on the manual is $60 but various dealers give 20% on line discount.  (E.G. Chicago HD)  I have ordered one but don't have it yet.

I have the manuals for my bike.  The supplement is basically the illustrated parts catalog.  It has exploded views of all of the primary parts and the corresponding part numbers.  The maintenance manual is the same for all 09 Touring bikes.  It has the "how-to" details in it.

Jim,

Is the supplement manual a different part number then just the manual? Also is there an electrical manual.

Thanks again.

Screamin, you're too funny ;)  Nice bike!

I found three manuals for the FLTRSE's

99483-09 2009 TOURING SERVICE MANUAL-ENGLISH
99600-09 2009 FLTRSE Supplement
99433-09 2009 FLTRSE PARTS CATALOG

Not that I think about it more, the Supplement is the one I'm missing.  I have the parts catalog and the service manual.  I'm waiting on the Supplement.  I'll let you know what it is when I get it.

So far I'm impressed with the manuals I have.  The Service Manual has good info on how to remove and replace parts.  It's nice to know what order you should do things like removing the faring and what the torque settings are.  It covers all '09 Touring bikes.  The parts catalog is specific to the FLTRSE.  Every part I've needed is referenced in it.  This is a must have if you need to replace items or want a better view of how something fits together (e.g. Exhaust System).  The part departments I've worked with seem to have a hard time finding what I've needed since so many parts are one-off on the SERG's and a lot has changed in general for the '09's.

Does the service manual also include the electrical, or is that a separate manual?
