Title: CVO Tri Glide Cam
Post by: Mr D on October 21, 2020, 11:04:50 PM
As the subject line says, Looking for more useable power & ride ability
wanting to keep the exhaust noise level down, will use FullSac M8 sport pipe & have Steve install 1.75 cores in the stock cans (they look good on the bike) as far a tuning, not many if any reputable tuners have a dyno for trikes, so a street tune may have to take place. Which would be ok, not interested in seeing or riding a graph on a 1200lb bike.
May change OE air cleaner for better flow to a SE Ventilator Extreme or SE Heavy Breather as well

Air cleaner is not a concern at the power level you will be at. You want a torque move and that would come from the Cycle-Rama CR460

Sheffer Performance can tune your Tri Glide. Here's a 117 CVO with a Cyclerama 480 cam and tune. This might be what your looking for..

I don’t see the 460 listed on Wes’ website

Mistake by me sorry, CR480 is what we put in as a stage 2.
As you see they are a torque pumper. You have made a good pipe choice.

I have not tried them personally. Nice enough guy, have talked to Jim @ Jims Vtwin.
By the way if they make a billet cat for the triglide they are worth about 5/5 over the duals. People forget they have lower gearing so despite being a barge for weight massive torque right off idle isn't needed to launch, it just comes with the M8 as a bonus. Big fat midrange numbers adds to the fun. Like all big twins do not lug them as would be the tendency with all that torque.

you should put "do not lug" in large bold letters everywhere, almost a signature.. i know guys all hot and bothered to install larger trans pully to "save gas and wear" at freeway speeds.. they will lug and overheat from it.. the M8 is partially oil cooled and taller gears and in too high a gear will over heat the engine..   i learned this the hard way in '78
