Trying to identify this trailer
« on: October 31, 2019, 01:39:36 PM »

Motorcycling friend phoned me because he knows I've had several trailers.  He is trying to help his friend identify this trailer.  Guy wants it to pull behind his little sports car and is for sale for $400 but no info available.

So wondering if anyone knows what the heck it is . . . and if it's worth $400 and additional $$ to paint.

TIA

Agreed.  Also looks like they had a bigger diameter tire in mind when it was created.

Thanks guys. Yup it’s a strange one for sure. Body kind of looks like it’s molded to me. But still could be some thin cheap junk. Think i would pass on it.

Jerry I think Terry is correct.  Looks like a reproduction of an older model servicar.  The old meter maid unit.  I would suggest really check out the suspension and rear end.

I was just going to say that it may be a trike rear body, but the meter maid sounds more plausible.

Cheapo Fiberglass creation mounted on a even cheaper Harbor Freight trailer. Mould on the one I know of was pulled from a Servi-Car. Someone in Sarasota has one, looks the same. I don't know him but have seen it several times. He pulls it with a old GW. I think he has been to Sturgis with it (2150 Miles from here), So maybe it is a little durable.

I have seen the box used on home built trikes to great success and also as trailers. I know a guy that has one I will see if he has any background information on it.

Here is the homebuilt trike.  Notice the box on the trailer is mounted backwards of the trike. My friend said the fiberglass is thick and the box is very heavy. The trailer he bought to take the box off had torsion suspension and he said the tongue weight was way to heavy to pull over 35 with a two wheeled motorcycle.  Will post the trailer photo when I get it.

Here is from the manufacturer notice the mounting direction. At one time Time Out Trailers built them. Bills trailers used to sell them. It’s worth about $250 in its current state.

Is it possible to get a picture of the inside of the trailer. My friend said that could help him date the thing.
