CVO Road Glide 2019 advice
« on: February 16, 2019, 11:28:55 AM »

Hi Guys. Need some advice  :confused5:

I'm just thinking about trading my CVO Road King 2014 for a CVO Road Glide 2019.
Actually, my King has everything I need and like, including the 117 cui upgrade and he runs very well.
The King has ~ 20 k miles and runs without any problems.
My first love was a "Red Pepper", but in Germany the red is no longer available for order or deliverable.
Now, the Lightning Silver & Charred Steel would be in the shortlist.
I'm also unsure about the problems the M8 has (Sumping, Oil Transfer etc.)
What should I do? Do you have some recommendations for me?

I know that's a personal decision, but maybe your comments will help me decide  :nervous:

Thats my King:

...some more help required.....

I think about to go with a Fullsac combination (Head Pipe & Power Core). How is the sound? is it very loud and is there a loss of torque?

Her is what I suggest to modify:

I highly recommend the upgrade. I have almost 13,000 trouble free miles on my 2018. I had my 2011 SESG just the way I liked it as well and was going through the same thought process as you. My new SERG is the best Harley I have owned by far and the new M8 in my opinion is stronger, smoother and runs way cooler (especially with the oil cooler fan installed) and the suspension is much better (but takes about 2500 miles to break in) than the twin cams that I had previously. Your RK is an awesome bike BUT once you pick up your new RG you will have no regrets!

Oh, don't forget the TTS tuner. I have the same Fullsac setup, it performs great and sounds awesome. Forum members here receive a discount from fullsac as well.

Let us know what you decide.

Mine are old enough to be the old Twin Cam and frame but have a Road King and Road Glide to go back and forth on any day.  Love them both.  Have done continental road trips on a Road King so they'll definitely handle trips and the road.  Having said that with both as an option the Road Glide goes anywhere very far away.  The Road King does weekenders and the like.  Road Glide is just less work to ride and a more comfortable ride out on the road.

Keep in mind that M8 engine and warranty. If you put the FS and TTS on it, you toss the factory warranty. If doing the work yourself and you know how to use the tuner, then you can revert it back to stock if you need to take it in for warranty issues.

I have a 13 CVO King, I did a 117 to it, not the HD kit.  Love the bike.

I also had a 17 CVO SG with the M8 114.  I put 21600 miles on it with out issue.  I then got the 18 CVO Road Glide, and put 24800 trouble free miles on it.  I had the Fullsac MX head pipe, the 2.25 baffles, tech mat and screens on it with the TTS tuner and a dyno tune.  I picked up 9 HP and 10 Torque over stock.  Loved it.

I know have a 19 CVO RG, Red Pepper.  I have 2200 miles on it.  Will be doing the same as I did to the 18 with Fullsac and TTS.

A stock 117 bike will have a little more torque than a 110 bike with a head pipe, mufflers and tune.  I prefer the M8, torque comes on earlier, the engine is smoother and stronger.

Not in Europe, we don't have the same EPA requirements that you guys in the US have.
We can still make changes without having to worry about warranties.
