Do you know if she's still going to offer the 20% discount?

Sure don't. I called up to Charlies on Friday to ask that, but she was gone already. She just left Charlie's on Friday. I don't know when she'll start in Cinci. I can imagine as PM, she'll have new responsibilities that may get in the way. :nixweiss:

Nothing has changed.

I just spoke to Jenny and she says same deal. 20% 0ff. She's eager to hear from everyone as she's eager to show her new boss what he's got to look forward to.  She also said she's never seen a place with so many parts.

Just made the same discovery a few minutes ago when I called to place an order.

I spoke with Brian all pricing will remain with the 20% discount, so until Jenni gets settled it business as usual at Charlies.

Brian said, she is moving up at Tri-County, Mgr. or equivalent, good for her.

Did he mention if customers would have to deal directly with him to get this like they were w/Jenny? If you can get more specifics I can add them back as one of the dealers that offer 20% discount in the thread I referenced earlier.

To quote Brian, he mentioned they will contine to accommodate us with the 20% discount.

They will need to hire someone to help with the load, but he is the go to person for now.

My experience with Charlies HD and Jenni, was no handling fee and very reasonable shipping cost.

Some of the others were off the chart with S&H cost.

Chuck, thanks for passing along the info. on Jenni.  I called her at the new job today and ordered some things.  She asked where I found out that she moved and I told her, "Chuck from the CVO website let me know."  She asked me to let everyone know she moved and I told her you already did! ;D  She's real excited about her new opportunity and really appreciates our business!

I will see if I kept a copy of one that was posted on the HTT site a while back.  Great lady!  Her husband has usually worked at the same dealership in the past.

Recent comment about her move from the other site:

"She was offered the GM position at Tri-County.  It was released on this site (not cvoharley) before her employer knew.  She must not have wanted to say anything until all the details were worked out. The best thing we can do for her is keep buying parts from her. No offense to Charlies, but I wasn't buying from them before Jenni got there.

It's kinda funny Willy G himself doesn't get talked about as much as Jenni on this (other) site."

Yep, on page 1 FireD00d posted the link that provides a list of discount dealers, several of which are Jenni's former employers as well as her current one with Tri-County HD.  While they may offer the 20% +/- discount, I'm not sure if they come close to her service standards.

I just got off the phone with Jenni at Tri County HD in Ohio.  She quoted me 20% off the extended warranty:

2 year.......retail $1,019 less 20%=$815.20
3 year.......retail $1,199 less 20%=$959.80

Obviously the 3 year deal is better value although I won't keep the bike that long.
Seems like a good deal (???) :cherry:

Those are good price quotes, I just paid $964 for 2 years for my 05 V-rod, plus there may not be any sales tax since its out of state.

Depending on the states insurance regulators, some dealers can set their own prices.

I checked with dealers in four different states, end up buying from Adamec in Orange Park, FL

Of those who have purchased from Jenni at the new digs (Tri-County), what has been the S&H charges?

The last time I ordered from Jenni at Charlies S&H it was $10, because of my level of OCD I've always got a list of "I wants" so I tend to add on to the order.

She has always maintained reasonable shipping and handeling programs so I doubt it will change.  Others bait you with even lower discounts then take a bite out of your OCD cash reserves with their "handling" charges.

I just got a battery and a fender spear from her.  Box was heavy due to the battery.  S&H was either $13 or $15, can't remember which now, but it was reasonable as always.  It's never been the same amount 2 times in a row for me, though.  I think she probably just passes along the cost she pays UPS without any markup.  At least that's the way it seems. :nixweiss:

It's a standard H-D AGM battery.  Not sure of the composition of those. :nixweiss:

Things have changed over the years so there may be a few states with some control over Extended Warranty (EW) policy charges.  However, only Life and Disability have Rate controls.  In many cases, the lender will have a policy to limit what is charged for EW if it is included in the contract.
The lender can't require that the EW policy be purchased, but sometimes the F&I person at the dealership will say "I (suggesting the financial institution like HD Credit) can knock a point off the finance rate if you purchase the extended warranty".  All this does is put money in their pockets today versus earning that 1 point spread over the life of the contract in the finance charge.
In the old days, some dealers were "self insuring" their extended warranties, but the banks and other lenders put a stop to that since they are responsible for providing coverage if the dealer sold their store or went out of business (I think the contract has the Holder in due course statement that makes them liable).

Jenni's deal looks pretty good.  The dealer still makes money.

I think consumers and consumer advocate groups had a lot more to that then the lenders did.

Having worked at several dealers that sold their own policies and refused to work on any "other's" policies it was inevitable that the programs would not last.

Porthole,
Pehaps a combination of both.
When the customer's began to complain, the bank's attorneys sited the "holder in due course" puting the bank at risk.  That happens even when an "approved" extended warranty company went under.  If a dealer refused to comply, I had to stipulate my contact approvals "not to include" a self insured Warranty.  It was not long before all financial institutions (including captives) put their foot down.  As you probably know from being in the business, when some dealers loaded up a contract with a $2,500+++ Extended Warranty, lenders began placing limits on what could be included in the amount financed.
I will add that in the event of a "Repo" at least the lender's could count upon an accurate refund of unearned premiums for Life and Disability.  However, the extended warranties are another story.  It was not as easy to get a dealer to calculate and refund "their markup" portion of the extended Warranty.  Ultimately this passes on to the customer as a higher deficiency balance.

I met Jenni yesterday at Tri County HD.  Her title is Gen Mgr. and she sits at a desk out on the showroom floor so she can see the action.  She introduced me to the owner as well.  By today's standards a small dealership but everyone was extremely friendly.  I bought some additional parts from her at 20% off.

They forgot to send the current HD promotion "Travel pack" on my last order, so they are sending it free with other "OCD" items I've added due to other threads on this forum.

Thanks for the update on where Jenni is located.  I just placed an order with her - prices much lower than anywhere else - and was in stock and she promised to ship today.  Great service.

Jenni said a photo would be posted to the Tri-County web site in the next few days for all of those wanting to put a face with the name.   :cherry:

A discount on a bike would be nice. Wonder if they are a MSRP dealer?

I ordered a part for the road king from her and she sent a letter thanking us for tracking her down and continuing to use her to find parts, the discount and she mentioned that she has been in the business for 21 years.  Jamey said she must have started when she was 7.

I called Jenni and got my 5-year extended service plan from her...20% off.  Received the paperwork/receipt from her two days after I bought it.  I will definitely be buying my parts from her.  She's pleasant to talk to and really wants our business.  She asked me to say hi to everyone and to get busy and start buying more stuff from her.   ;)

It's piece of mind mi amigo.  I'm not planning on doing any major internal mods to my engine, so the extended works for me.  Plus, with my luck with nails and screws, the wheel/tire road hazzard is one of the best additions I've ever made.   I've already used that on my Jester.  Got the rear tire replaced, at no cost to me, after taking a sheet-metal screw in it.  :2vrolijk_21:
