Lemme see if I've got this stright. The guy bought a custom helmet for $$?? (obviously not cheap) had it stolen and paid another $140 and still doesn't have the helmet. Meanwhile, the guy who stole it probably still has the $140 because his case hasn't come to court and most likely won't no court is going to waste it's time on petty theft of $140.
Here's what I'd do. I have an open "arrangement" with some old bros. If they need "assistance" on an issue where their face shouldn't be seen, then I deal with it. If I need "assistance" they deal with it. I'd have the helmet in hand, the thief would have a broken effin arm and the cops would never have been involved.
FYI, this is one of the things that marks the difference between an Outlaw and a Criminal.
