Whoa! :o  The blacked-out bike against which all other blacked-out bikes should be measured!  Nice job with the photography, too. :2vrolijk_21:

Better keep wax products far, far away from that one. :nervous: ;) ;D

Damn.  That's nice.  I almost always don't care for blacked out bikes.  Usually inconsistent in application, finishes vary or other parts of the look are inconsistent or not complementary from front to bike.  That, however, is a mean and great looking bike.  Absolutely outstanding look.

Compliments to the effort and the outcome.  Amazing looking bike.  Please share more details of the cosmetic side of the effort.  Paints, powders, textures, whatever?  Very very nice.

Hard to believe (I know) but even though I preach I never met a piece of chrome I didn't like it's not completely true.  There can easily be too much.  It can get distracting or overpowering (at least to me).  This bike's effort at an all back theme is amazing though.  If I were jonesing for a project and could tap Dood's pocket cash for the effort I'd build something like this in a heartbeat.

Thanks guys so much... took some time and the boys at Southeast Custom Cycles in N.C. did a great job in fulfilling my vision and my nittpicking... the color is vivid black witha denim clearcoat and the racing stripes are a pearl black witha denim finish giving it sort of greyish look... very subtle... all chrom parts were powder coated satin black except for the dash which was welded flush and painted with the bike... the engine parts in wrinkle black were purchased from HD.... i had to actually use the rear end from an 09 SERG because i already purchased the parts before the 2010 SESG came out... who new?

One question, did you fabricate your own 2-1 exhaust?? Looks like HD header's with a D&D muffler.

Those chrome rings on the gauges just do not come off without risk of damage so i didn't even bother with them...no that is a 2-1 D&D fatcat header and muffler... and thanks again for the compliments.... my other bikes are black and tons of chrome and i just wanted to go in the opposite direction... its definitley not for everyone... cheers

I think that your bike is Chit Hot.  For a blacked out bike it is outstanding in that category.  I will probably be going for more black on my bike than what others care for.  Nice job.

I have been diagnosed as a serious "chromaholic", but I can't help but keep coming back looking at this bike. Earlier today I didn't have time to enlarge and view everyone of your pictures (damn work gets in the way of my fun), but tonight I was able to go back and do just that. I looked at your post of the additions and then went looking for them and it is amazing how much more you see when you have the list to go by. I had to look hard at several of the pictures to see the tweeter pods. Everything just blends in and fits. :2vrolijk_21: I also thought as I was looking at the pictures if the "Terminator" was created now instead of way back when I can just picture Arnold on this bike kicking @$$ and saying "We'll be back". ;D

I would have to agree with everyone Else here that for a blacked out bike yours is a first class job. Don't know why but it makes me think of something from Mad Max...so it must be coooooool :2vrolijk_21: Great Work :2vrolijk_21:

I've finally seen a blacked out scooter that draws my eye! What a great job. Great attention to the details. WOW!

How do you like the suspension x factor by Motorcycle Metal? Have you ever rode Traxxion AK-20s to compare it with? I've done a lot of things with Howard Messner at Motorcycle Metal, including the Ohlins shocks. I've had Bitubos and Ohlins on my CVO Ultras, and the Ohlins perform much better, in my opinion. Howard knows his stuff. I'm surprised you didn't go with his HID head light. He's made me HID wiring harnesses for all my CVO bikes and supplied all my HID lighting including Adjure 4 1/2 inch headlamp buckets to replace the passing lights on my CUSE4&5. I used the stock headlamp but put his HID high/lo beam ballast & bulbs in. It's great stuff. If you talk to him, he gets to the point, don't take it as him being rude. He's a busy guy. google motorcycle metal Davie, Florida. or motorcyclemetal.com

Your bike looks great. Nice job.

Very interesting.  About the nicest blacked out bike I've seen.....it looks complete and "finished".

It would make a very interesting picture to have your bike in the middle of a bunch of brightly colored CVOs.  Make sure you catch one of the CVO GTGs (get togethers) and do that.  Looks like you have an eye for photography too, if you're the one that took the photos. :2vrolijk_21:

Thanks for all the praise... i had been waiting for a SESG... and early June, i couldn't wait and went ahead with this... it was fun and a complete learning experience... Howard st motorcylemetal is the man... he has taught me so much about suspension in general and now he is in the process of helping fine tune the rear shocks... i will go with the HID kit but i wanted something to do later ;D... i have not tried the traxxion dynamics but went with Howard because i plain trust him and like people who are straight forward...my builder is the great photographer... he has done his own photoshoots on the bikes he has gotten into mags...who knows, maybe this one will end up in one... thanks again for the compliments....cheers

p.s. Johnny is the man!!!! i do love the color black... but that is far as related goes :bananarock:

I think what sets it off from all the other blacked-out bikes, is the gray accents. Looks very good, all stealthy.

But I gotta ask... your turn signals don't hit your lowers? I've got lowers on my '08 FLHX, and I had to swap out the turn signals. Which was fine, I was going to anyway.

Wow!  Awesome!  I usually just shake my head and wonder "why" when I see a blacked out bike. Now I know what they were all trying to achieve and fell short of.  Beautiful job.  That's a bike that should be printed in some magazines.

If you want you can use the accessory chrome trim rings and powder coat them black...Very Nice Bike

I understand the rings come with adhesive on the back... how did you deal with that and powder coating?
