Title: Whim module
Post by: Gkup on October 20, 2018, 07:46:32 AM
Just sitting here to lazy to get up and look. Did my 2016 Street Glide CVO come with wireless capability to connect to the new Harley wireless headsets?

If you really want it, you can add the module to your 2016.  Harley sells the module plus the required harness for about $350 MSRP, one of the discount dealers would likely cut about 20% from that.

Edit:  I just checked Boardtracker, their price for the module plus the harness is $$300 (15% discount).

That’s a lot of money for something I may never use

My thought exactly, especially after looking at the prices Harley charges for the headsets.

You are correct.  I had a brain fart.  Could be I was wishing I still had the 17 where the plug in head set worked every time you plugged it in.  An it was always working fine or phone or CB.

The 18 is a huge disappointment.  90% of the time the phone is so quiet on the head set its not usable unless you stop the motorcycle.  Wind noise in mic is bad also when using CB.

Wired in my opinion is 99% better.

I was seriously considering going wireless since I've been having a lot of problems with my wife's J&M headset.  Looks like we finally got it all sorted thanks to the help from Sierra Electronics and glad we did as I had reservations and concern about the WHIM and wireless headsets - both cost and effectiveness.  I've heard of enough problems similar to yours to keep me from going in that direction.  Like many things the moco introduces it appears that it's not ready for prime time just yet.
