The CVO 110 engine is infamous for Lifter failure. I have owned 2 so far. The first one I changed the lifters at 10K miles as "Preventative Maintenance".
I will do the same again if my wife actually ever gets up to 10K Miles.

I'm already looking at this winter's mods for my '15 CVO Street Glide.  I purchased it in Feb with 1871 miles on it and have already cracked 3000 miles in a couple months.  I'm just looking to bolster performance a bit, get rid of the crapola springs, and change cams.  I'm looking for a couple answers and some input.  To keep it simple for me and responders: everything I'm looking to do is well within my mechanical abilities, but I am not well versed with messing with jugs and pistons, so a 117 upgrade isn't an option.

Intentions are to:

1.  Send off heads to "some" head work done to replace springs and valves guides, as well as some porting work.  Hillside and Zippers are highly recommended for this work, but I've found that FuelMoto also does this work and I'm leaning towards using them because I can send my heads back for core once the new ones arrive.  Their package includes:

-Complete disassembly, inspection, and cleaning of cylinder heads
-Extensive CNC porting, texturing, and blending with an emphasis on best all around performance
-Custom FM porting performed by Ward Performance
-Oversize Stainless 5/16 1.900" Intake 1.610" Exhaust valves
-Serdi valve job
-.650 lift Beehive style valve springs are manufactured from ultra-clean high silicon/vanadium Kobe alloy wire
-CNC machined combustion chamber

Still trying to decide which way to go.  Is there anything else I should be considering?

2.  Whomever I get to do the headwork;  I'm going to roll with their recommend cams (bearings/pushrods/lifters included) to optimize the head work performed.  My question is:  Is the CVO oil pump and cam plate adequate to support all the above-mentioned work, or should I bite the bullet and put in an upgraded oil pump and cam plate?

I already have a tuner and wideband O2 sensors in my 2-1 exhaust, so tuning will not be an issue.  There is an Indy shop that has an excellent reputation for tuning within a reasonable drive from me as Memphis is a wasteland for Indy shops

My 1st question is what kind of warranty did the dealer give you when you bought it? 100 miles is like 1 day from the purchase.  Your dealer is dishonest!

Taking a few friends up Hwy 1 central coast route for a few days.
Don’t know if it’s open all the way to Big Sur but we’ll see.
We can always go across the coast mountains to Ft. Hunter Leggett.

Weather looks pretty nice this week!

👍

Sounds like a really nice trip.  One I would like to do some day.  I have gone from Alcarta CA North along the coast to Cape Flattery.  It was beautiful on a motorcycle.

I'm sorry,...but we're celebrating accomplishments of 3,800 and 7,900 miles?  Does anyone else find this unsettling?  I mean would we be doing this kind of "mileage watch" with a new car or truck? No we wouldn't. We'd just put gas in it and drive it. But Mother Harley has us so whipped we make non accomplishments notable.

To everyone who has a new ride, I hope you all remain trouble free, I really do.  It's just disheartening that we have come to this.
Rolled over 8,100 yesterday.  I'm not really celebrating.  Just commenting it's trouble free miles as so many have said it was going to have lots of problems with the new technology.

I'm very impressed with this VVT engine.  It has a very wide torque curve, pulls very well.  Gets good fuel econemy until you keep it above 80 mph.  I do not expect any problems out of the engine.
