wiring harness breaking down
« on: October 22, 2009, 03:14:01 PM »

Dealership is replacing my wiring harness today, after many miles thinking it was the throttle body, and the pin connector, well now dealership says it is the wires....While driving down the road could be for hours or even just minutes the throttle quits responding...Motor continues to run -throttle does nothing at all...After being so aggravated with this for the past several months-- while on the side of the highway I shook the wires---turned the ignition switch off and then started it again.....the throttle would start working again.....The strands in the wire are breaking down....while traveling the dealership cut out about 10" of wire and spliced it back again....There were only a few strands of copper inside of the vinyl jacket.....This connection has been re-pinned several times now.....Also the same problem with the horn connections.....the connections that plug onto the horn just keep falling off of the end of the wire....Finally I hope this will be the fix
