What is the mileage on your 10 SESG?
« on: December 09, 2009, 11:37:57 AM »

We've got a thread going about issues.....how about posting your mileage and the things that are "right" with your bike?  What do you like about it compared to previous models you've owned or other CVO models?

10 SESG handles far better than 07 SE ultra and 04 pumpkin. Moco got this one right. No issues here so far.  :2vrolijk_21:

At this time I'm getting around 41 MPG but I'm still in the break in period.

What's right?

Frame difference is quite noticeable with the ride and handling of the bike.

Seems to have a lower center of gravity.

Stops better than any bike I've previously had.

Larger back tire (180) than the models I've had before, not too sure about the extra handling or replacement cost and wear but it sure does set off the back end. Along with the new back end of the SG plus the extended bags are just eye candy. (did everyone removed the license plate reflector or just me?)

New style air cleaner is nice to look at. Still out to lunch on just how practical it is.

This year model seat is easy on the southbound. Short yes, but very comfortable.

Fly-by-wire is a little better than I thought it would be.

CVO styled wheels are coming along nicely.

6 gallon tank. First one that I've had is a nice touch.

Crank adjustable shocks are nice. No more air pump needed and seems to be ranged nicely to weight.

LED's are a good edition.

I could keep going.... all in all, along with the TQ paint, I'm very happy.

I had an '07 Sporty Custom before my SESG so I feel like I have gone from a Jeep to a Bentley as far as ride goes.  This bike handles curves VERY well, stops on a dime, and can really move when you want it to.  Hotrod Bagger really sums it up for me!!  I have about 1300 miles on her.

Logged in 1,297 miles absolutely Ecstatic  :cherry: :cherry: :cherry:

The paint is spectacular and I'm more than a Little picky. The brighter the sun the larger the flakes.

Previously rode Softails no complaints there at all either. The main reason for the move was luggage space. We ride for distance whenever we can 8)

unlike JC we don't own a trailer? :D :D :D :D

Antilock brakes are amazing and the styling in the rear is very nice.

I was about to build a custom Street Glide with stretched rear fender and bags. I really would've enjoyed the build. A bit of a do it yourselfer I guess. But by the time I added up all the custom parts, Paint and Engine work the CVO looked like a bargain. In addition the NADA Book gives credit to the CVO value that you would not see in a custom build.

The LEDS are the nicest I've seen nothing in the aftermarket I've seen as nice yet.

Ride is great!

Jury still out on the shocks need more time in the saddle. (Damn Snow) May not get out again now until Daytona?

Wheels are growing on me (slightly)

Forks look awesome absent the reflectors!!!

It's a keeper :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

That's a blow.  But wait.....I don't own a trailer....I have an ambulance.  Transportation to or from the shop only. :)

Truth be known, I've rode ocean to ocean on one trip as well as to Canada and Mexico.  Just this summer alone, we rode up to British Columbia on one trip, Mt. Hood two weeks later, then the Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, Monument Valley, Sedona two weeks after that.  Terrie'z bike clocked 20,000 milles in less than a year.  My SEEG had 60k miles.  I think we might qualify as distance riders. :nixweiss:

Oh, by the way, we have a ride planned this coming year.....from Miami, down to Key West then all the way across to the Pacific ocean....4,500 miles.  Can hardly wait.

Bill, I'm thinkin it's time you post some pics of your SESG.  I'm really curious to see what it looks like with those spoilers, too. :nixweiss:

As of today..14923 miles
I was sick last week, and rain this, my average is falling....

whats right with it, well after putting 53000 miles on my 08 FXDF, the SESG is a recliner on wheels!
I do find myself getting a bit too relaxed and hear my mothers voice saying..."Sit up Dean! you want to ruin your back!?" :D

Dean is proof.....it's not only easy to do.....it's a pleasure doing it.

By the way Dean.....our mother's must have went to the same school. I laughed out loud when I read that.
