This might be a mistake BUT  I dont have a problem with my amp.  Maybe I dont play it loud and long enough to stress the amp!  I only play it when riding around town, when on highway/trips have earplugs in so music would be almost useless.

QUESTION     For all the bad amps   What level do you play your music at?  and how long?

Mano here are the part numbers that i was given.

old ~ 77041-11

new ~ 76000141

Thanks buddy. The new number is the revised amp so it really is not another new amp.

For me there was no problem for the first 4000km. I would play at full volume for hours and all was well but once it started cutting in and out it did not matter how long or how high the volume was it would just do it till it finally died. The second amp was not as powerfull as the original and i did not even make it out of the dealership parking lot and it was already cutting in and out. On sunday i was listening to ESPN radio on am and all they where doing was talking and it was cutting in and out at half volume.

Forum member "barefoot3zk5" wrote on another thread that he recently received a new amp numbered 76000141 with a "Rev A" at the end of the part number.  This "Rev A" may be a new (3rd edition) amp.  I hope so!

WayneG,

For me, I don't think I ever turned up the stereo more than 1/2 to 5/8 volume. One day it worked fine and the next it was dead. The new model number replacement amp has worked fine since.

Update,

Amp Replaced with new updated amp same issue.  The dealer is being told now that the amp is cutting out due to a speaker issue which causes the amp to shut down to save the speaker.   Bike goes back in this week to be looked at.    >:(

Looks like the speakers have a new superceded part number which is good and bad.   I am being told that they are on back ordered until end of next month.

My ride went in yesterday. I printed off this thread and the other one about amps and gave it to the mechanic at the dealership. Lets see what they find. One guy thought i was nuts for going threw the trouble of getting the information. I just think that with technology and the help of the members of this site these treads are proof that something is wrong and we do not have to believe everthing the dealers says to us.

Mano,

They dealer called the mothership and was told they would not pull the new speakers off the assembly line, which means the backorder date is still 12/31/11 for the tweeters/speakers.

My Bike has a build date of 09/10.
I had the first Amp replaced late 2010.
Then that one failed and I had a new one fitted agin early this year - So far no problems  ;)

The dealership called me and asked if I could drop off my TTS and MAP for the exhaust. They want to flash it back to stock because they keep getting a CODE reading saying that the rear speakers are open. :nixweiss: I did not know I had rear speakers....lol.

Maybe they are suspecting speakers. :nixweiss:

Bottom line with riding season over for me up here in the great white north I will not take the bike till they fix it.
