The only way I know of to get a black chrome head pipe is to by an afar market head pipe that the factory heat shields fit like I did.  Fullsac makes two options for the M8 motor.  He makes the MX headpipe which is his best and provides good improvement in low end torque on stock motors, and I know for a fact works great with very built motors.  The other is the sport pipe for the M8 which is for those that want most cost effective and will not build the motor.  You have to call on sport pip.His products are the popular choice here because of the reasonable cost and great performance.  I have used fullsac head pipes on 7 CVO's and four regular touring bikes.

The other choice I know is Fuel Motor.  He also makes two head pipes that fit under the factory chrome , one is for very built motors and one for stock to mild build motors.

Found black chrome mufflers at Khrome Works.  Anyone using that product ?
How do they perform???

I also see Rhinehart has a 4.5 black Chrome slip on.  Wonder what head pipes would be best?

Any thoughts or experience would be appreciated

Doesn’t changing the head pipe void your warranty?

If you change the head pipe and do not tune, the MoCo will not be able to detect the change unless the dealer tells them its an aftermarket headpipe.
That said if you change the head pipe the bike should really be tuned to ensure the right fuel to air mixture.  It will also help performance and heat when tuned.  Once tuned the MoCo will know first time dealers has to connect computer to bike.  So warranty is voided at that time, by MoCo not dealer.

I would not use a aftermarket head pipe with out a tune.

Khrome werks are color matched to the bike. You don't need the heat shields.

Here is my post with catalog page for part numbers. https://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=120577.0

Some people claim the have put the stock heat shields on 4.5s, some people say you can't. Might be a tight fit.
