Well I finally bit the bullet and spent WAY TO MUCH adding remote power locks to the saddlebags of my CVO Glide.

Everywhere we go the wife has me locking and unlocking the bags 2 and 3 times so she can grab or put away stuff and I really thought it might be nice and easy to install the power locks.    The problem is, you can't just install actuators and a module like I thought might be possible.   By the time I realized how much it would be, I was already committed with parts I could not send back, so I plodded onward until the job was done.     Maybe my craziness will help someone else if they are trying to decide to do it.

I gotta say though it is Soooo nice to just hit the button and lock both bags as we are walking away from the bike or hit the unlock button from afar so the wife can run back for her sunglasses!!! :bananarock:

So I purchased both actuators,  found out that the latches are different for Power Locks so I had to purchase both of those,  Then found out the Lock Cylinders are different so I had to get those (ordered them already coded to my other locks and keys.)   Then just a 15.00 module with remotes from Amazon and a couple of Deutsch 2-Pin weatherproof Connectors.

I mounted the Remote Lock module in the RT Side Cover and made my own harness to the actuator connectors.

Actually putting it all together was pretty easy,  it was paying the bill for the parts that broke my back!  I got the parts from Newcastle Harley online because they offer a discount and my local dealers do not.

Just a little word of advice, make sure the bags are actually locked. Just because you hear the actuators click, you may want to physically check if they are locked. Had it happen on my bike and once on my Ram truck with RAMBOXES.
Nice write up by the way.

Thanks and Good Advice!

Here's a shot of the inside of one of the bags.   I did not know exactly where the factory routes the harness out so I winged it...

Shewww that's a lot but love mine! I was looking at adding Boom II speakers to my lowers, by the time I got into, harnesses, etc... I was over a grand for 2 speakers and an amp lol. I quit.

I love my power locks and would probably spend the money for them if I had to. But there is no way I would ever spend my money on HD factory upgrade  speakers. In fact I wouldn't waste my time installing them if they gave them to me. They are nothing and I mean nothing but junk

I gotta say that after spending some time with them,  it was definitely worth it to me!

I see you now have the 2019 Road Glide with the locking saddlebags, are you planning on getting the Tour Pak for your new bike and adding the Remote locks to it?  If you know how to do it, I would be interested in doing my new Tour Pak! :pepper:

Nice job!  Is anything we do to our bikes not expensive?  (A loaded question)  $750 WOW!  But I can't talk I just spent 1200+ on 2 speakers & amp.  It's a sickness!

can anyone confirm the part list for the remote locks and are is it remote only or can you use the available aux buttons below the dash on the street glides?
