Title: Time For Me To Makeup Mind; Help!!!
Post by: MJZ on January 29, 2006, 09:55:43 PM
Ok spent a few hours at the stealer today. The 02 FXDWG3 (blue) and I are only a few $$$$ apart. The bike has 1,040 actual miles and the only modification is the exhaust. The rest with the exception of a couple of tiny spots that a good waxing will take care of, the bike is really as it came out of the box. Kelly has the value of (retail) 18,995 and actual 14,000. I can either do it for 17,500 plus 9.75 sales tax (thanks Memphis, Tennessee) or wait until late summer and see what CVO puts on the table for 07. Granted it will cost me at least an extra 12K but for that I would get a 07 w/ 103, fuel inject. and hopefully a 6 speed.
Really, what do you think? I really would appreciate some input here.
If you don't want to post it, please pm me if you have any advise to offer.

Thanks,
Mark Z

What's on the table for 07 is just speculation at this point. It will most likely be a SEUC but the 6 speed [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Being that you already have the SEEG, and unless your looking for another touring type bike, I would go for the FXDWG3. It's a sweet bike [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] and a completely different ride than the touring models.

Does either the thought of the bike or sitting on it on the showroom floor make important parts of your anatomy feel all tingly?  If the answer is yes, you must pur-chess !

Dude, great points. You are absolutely right, I will keep my SEEG and could not ever see me parting with it anytime in the next couple of years. And it is a completely different ride. Thanks for the input. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Since you already have the SEEG and didn't mention getting rid of it I would assume you looking at adding to stable. For this bike (with low mileage) and this price don't think you could go wrong. Now if you are really serious about waiting to '07 to see what will be new in the CVO line it might be worth your wait. Few things to consider...

1. Dyna's were introduced w/6 speed transmissions this year.
2. Been several years since they had a Dyna CVO bike.

With those things to consider and remember this is just my speculation I would think it might be time for them to bring back a Dyna CVO w/103 motor.

Attention: Willie "G" Davidson - Mark Z. would like to have a Dyna CVO in 2007.

Hope that helps. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

;D, heck Don, I can't imagine any bike not giving me that "tingly" feeling. Wait, my son made me try a crotch rocket, I had a feeling but it sure wasn't tingly. :o
It felt like laying on my fat stomach and trying to look at a cloud while breathing at the top of Mt. Everest.

So let's see if we got this straight.  You're picking up this Wide Glide, you're getting the 07 when they come out, and there's still that under MSRP SE Fatboy at the dealership here in Joplin to finish swinging the deal one.  Wow, you gots lots of tinglies  ;D

CHIT, that is exactly what is going on in my head. Would that or a SE Softtail Standard be in the line up with a 103 and a 6 speed, would I pay an extra 12K? I really think so.

They've been painting the CVO's as long as I remember hearing who painted them.  :-/  The earlier paint was exceptional, too bad this years is not consistent.   :'( spyder

Sounds like a good approach MJ.  A fouled up or mismatched engine job is too big a deal to have to straighten out after fact unless the bike's price was much much better.

All I can say is the FXDWG2/3 are the best looking bikes HD ever made.

I've put 9000 miles on my FXDWG3 and love it more every day.
I frequently have people come up who comment on it , and love watching the heads turn in traffic.  She's a dream come true .. go for it you won't be sorry
