Harley Davidson "Knucklehead" motorcycle in perfect scale
« on: January 01, 2010, 10:24:05 PM »

We found this little museum the other day.
To say the quality of craftsmanship is awesome is not doing justice to what these people can (and have) done!
We were treated to a 4 cyl OHV 1/8 scale engine running.......never seen anything like it!
The Harley Knuck is tiny!!
ALL the engines in this museum will run, except one. Hard to believe.
We spent hours looking at the exhibits, and listening to the curator.
We will take another trip there with some of our group, only gear heads will appreciate what they have there!
Too much to list, but, here's a link:

Enjoy.

An outfit called Replica Engines made 750 running copies of this 1937, 61 cubic inch Knuck. From what I remember it ran somewhere near the price of an off the shelf EVO powerplant at the time.

The Museum is very close to the Southwest GTG in June. For those attending we could arrange a visit for interested parties. Post your thoughts on http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=40779.0

The outfit that I purchased my lil Knuck from 15 years ago is located in Michigan. It looks like they have moved since then; I believe they used to be in Galien, MI.

Check out the Past Projects page on their site. There is a photo of a chopper powered by this little Knuck engine; very cool stuff.

It looks like they still sell connecting rod keychains and sparkplug earrings. They made their own sparkplugs 15 years ago; they probably still do.

I wonder if Venolia makes a forged, high compression version of this keychain.  ;D
